Job Description
Our client is looking for a Power BI Developer Crystal Reports Writer for a 6 weeks contract role in Lawrenceville, GA. As a Microsoft Power BI and Crystal reports Support and Development Specialist, you will be responsible for providing expert end user support for existing Power BI Reports and Dashboards throughout the client, as well as designing, developing, and maintaining new custom-built data models and reports. You will work closely with stakeholders to understand their business intelligence needs, translate requirements into technical tasks, and create coherent and useful reports to meet business objectives. You will also provide direct customer support to assist users with previously deployed reports and dashboards. The ideal candidate will have a proficient understanding of Power BI and Crystal reports and experience working with a wide variety of different data sources.
Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in developing reports with Microsoft Power BI.
• 5 plus years of proven work experience designing, developing, and maintaining Crystal Reports, with a strong understanding of data structures and reporting principles.
• Proficiency in Power BI Desktop and Power BI Report Builder.
• Proficiency using DAX formulas in Power Query.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle, SharePoint, SAP BW, Salesforce, Aumentum Tax System and other data sources.
• Experience writing queries and creating intricate semantic models.
• Familiarity with SSRS and similar reporting tools.
Preferred Experience:
• Experience in Microsoft BI stack with Power BI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS.
• Crystal Reports certification or similar credentials.
• Experience using the Crystal Reports SDK to embed reports in .NET or web applications.
• Familiarity with scripting and programming.
• Some knowledge of UI/UX development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Sound logical and analytical reasoning skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective time management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
• Report Development: Design, develop, and deploy custom reports and dashboards using Microsoft Power BI and Crystal Reports that meet business requirements and provide actionable business insights. Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and analyze business intelligence requirements, translating them into technical specifications and useful reports.
• Data Modeling: Connect Power BI/Crystal Reports with various data sources and services, including SQL Server, Oracle, SAP BW, Salesforce, Aumentum Tax System, and SharePoint.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide ongoing support and maintenance for existing Power BI reports and dashboards, including troubleshooting issues and implementing enhancements.
• Best Practices: Adhere to best practices in Power BI/Crystal Reports development, including data modeling standards, security, and visual optimization.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other developers, project managers, and business analysts to ensure successful project delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Training and Support: Offer training and support to end-users and provide guidance on effective use of Power BI/Crystal Reports.
