Job description

Lead Software Engineer

The Lead Software Engineer will develop, enhance, and implement application solutions to support the company's need for improving internal and regulatory analytical and reporting processes in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. This person will need to work independently and/or with a team of analysts and developers to create new applications or BI solutions, support Workday integrations, initiate and/or introduce enhancements to existing monthly processes and resolve issues with existing applications in an expeditious manner. This position will report to the Corporate Applications Manager and will require significant interaction with several teams such as the Business Operations, Application Teams such as Dev Ops, DBAs, change control, Helpdesk, Problem Resolution Management, Project Managers, Data Center, Quality Assurance, Network Engineering, HR Technology, and some external vendors to identify, review and deploy moderately complex solutions.

At this time, we are not considering applicants who require employment authorization sponsorship as a condition of eligibility for employment with the Company or at any point during the term of their employment. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future visa sponsorship by the Company.

The Lead SQL Developer will be working onsite in Fort Lauderdale, FL (or possibly at the BOS) with a modified schedule to work remotely on occasion.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, management information services or related field of study; or any equivalent combination of relevant background, skills, and experience to include a minimum of 5 years programming experience in windows or web development environments
  • 5-8 years of experience /technical expertise in SQL programming (MS SQL 2016 – 2025)
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL and database management systems which includes performance optimization, concepts, and solutions
  • Experience with SSRS (SQL Server Reporting Services) and SSIS (SQL Server Integration Services) and building and optimizing query tables, stored procedures, indexes, user defined functions and formulas
  • 1-2 years of experience with Workday integrations
  • 2-3 years building automation for.NET applications
  • 2-3 years of experience implementing process automation using scripting tools and languages such as PowerShell and other related languages
  • Experience understanding code building and release pipelines
  • Familiarity with coding standards such as MVC, client-side frameworks (Angular JS/jQuery), asynchronous programming, web sockets (Signal R), SOA, and mobile clients
  • General IT knowledge across areas within IT, have knowledge and experience with IT systems, Software & Web applications
  • Proficient with MS Office applications such as Access, Excel, Visio, Word, Power Point
  • Ability to function as a professional team member contributing to a positive and productive work environment with associates at all levels of the organization
  • Detail oriented and sound problem solving, coding, and debugging skills sufficient to quickly identify and analyze a problem, propose viable solutions, and prepare system process flow and technical documents
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to document and present ideas and solutions successfully to business sponsors, peers, management and leads
  • Good listening, organizational and critical thinking skills to gather requirements and assess impact and understand business needs and to maintain strict confidentiality of data
  • Ability to work effectively in a high pressure, team environment with ability to multitask
