Job Summary:
Missouri University of Science and Technology is a leading research university seeking an Advancement Data Operations Lead to support University Advancement. This role oversees the operational management and integrity of CRM Advance and related data systems, ensuring accurate data workflows and reliable reporting to enhance fundraising and engagement efforts.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the day-to-day operational management of CRM Advance to ensure accurate data entry, consistent workflows, and effective system utilization
• Apply expertise in relational databases, CRM platforms, and data privacy standards to design, maintain, and improve data workflows
• Ensure data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance across all advancement systems and processes
• Maintain and enhance platform reliability, including data freshness, pipeline uptime, controlled releases, and failure recovery
• Develop dashboards and on-demand reports to support leadership, fundraising operations, and strategic planning across University Advancement
• Troubleshoot complex data issues using strong SQL and analytical skills, applying an understanding of data quality dimensions and controls
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into actionable reporting and analytics solutions
• Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and improve efficiency across data and reporting processes
• Oversee daily operational activities related to advancement data, implementing enhancements to maximize accuracy and effectiveness
• Supervise and coordinate with data specialists and biographical records staff to ensure consistent procedures and high-quality data stewardship
• Coordinate data entry processes and provide training to internal and external users on the effective use of CRM Advance
• Serve as a resource to advancement staff by promoting best practices in data management, reporting, and system usage
• Communicate clearly with technical and non-technical audiences to support data-informed decision-making
Qualifications:
Required:
• A Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Preferred:
• Strong emphasis and experience in database management
• Four or more years of direct experience working with databases in a higher education, financial, or administrative environment
• Experience with higher education administration, accreditation reporting, and/or financial operations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, SQL Server Management Studio, and enterprise data systems, such as PeopleSoft
• Familiarity with Ellucian CRM Advance or similar CRM platforms
• Advanced SQL skills with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities with a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated experience working with spreadsheets, data management systems, and reporting software
