Lead Data Architect
Location: Los Angeles, CA (Hybrid)
Duration: Long-Term Contract
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead Data Architect to design and deliver enterprise-scale cloud data solutions for a next-generation data platform. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you will architect modern data warehouse solutions, build scalable ETL pipelines, and drive cloud-based data transformation initiatives.
The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in AWS Redshift, Informatica Cloud (IICS), Python, SQL, Enterprise Data Warehousing, and Data Governance, along with experience leading large-scale enterprise data initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Architect and maintain enterprise data platforms, including Operational Data Stores (ODS), Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Data Lakes, Data Marts, and Metadata Repositories.
  • Design and develop scalable, high-performance ETL/ELT pipelines using Informatica Cloud (IICS), AWS Redshift, Azure Data Factory, SSIS, and related technologies.
  • Build robust frameworks for ingesting structured and semi-structured data using both batch and real-time processing.
  • Design logical and physical data models following dimensional and OLAP modeling best practices.
  • Optimize data warehouse performance, scalability, availability, and resiliency.
  • Lead Proof of Concepts (POCs) and present architectural solutions to technical and business stakeholders.
  • Drive enterprise Data Governance initiatives, including Data Lineage, Data Catalog, Metadata Management, and Data Quality.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term solutions.
  • Develop production-grade ETL code using Python and SQL while ensuring high-quality engineering standards.
  • Build intelligent automated testing frameworks and integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, architects, developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in Data Warehouse and Data Engineering solutions.
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership or Data Architect role.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with AWS Redshift or similar cloud data warehouse platforms.
  • Strong experience with Informatica Cloud (IICS) and enterprise ETL development.
  • 3+ years of Python development experience.
  • Strong SQL development and database optimization skills.
  • Expertise in Data Warehouse architecture, ETL design, and OLAP/Dimensional Data Modeling.
  • Experience implementing enterprise Data Governance solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of data security and compliance standards such as SOC 2 and PCI DSS.
  • Experience with performance tuning for large-scale databases and ETL workloads.
  • Experience working with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working within Financial Services, Banking, Payments, or FinTech environments.
  • Experience with partner reporting, compliance analytics, and business intelligence platforms.
  • Knowledge of real-time data processing and event-driven architectures.
