Job description

Description
Join us at Nayax, a global fintech leader (NASDAQ; TASE: NYAX) revolutionizing the world of cashless payments, consumer engagement, and business management solutions. With more than 1,200 employees across 12 offices worldwide. At Nayax, you'll be part of a diverse and innovative community where your work makes a real impact and helps shape the future of payments.
Retail Pro International (RPI) is a global leader in retail management software, empowering retailers in over 80 countries with flexible, scalable, and powerful solutions. Our mission is to enable retailers to thrive in a rapidly evolving landscape by delivering innovative technology, deep industry expertise, and a commitment to long-term partnerships. RPI was acquired by Nayax in 2023 and has been merged into the company's product portfolio.
We are currently looking for a SQA Automation Team Lead to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our company.
We're looking for a hands-on automation leader to take our retail software platforms from manual testing to a fast, reliable, AI-accelerated automation practice. This person will do three things exceptionally well:
  • Convert our existing manual test cases into robust, maintainable automation across web and API.
  • Lead the automation practice - setting standards, mentoring the QA team, and serving as the technical authority (without direct people-management responsibility).
  • Improve the testing process continuously, using AI tools to reduce manual effort, expand coverage, and accelerate releases.

If you've personally migrated a manual test suite into automation, raised the bar for a QA team, and used AI to make testing genuinely faster - this role is built for you.
Role Summary (What You'll Own):
Convert manual test cases into automation (the core of the job)
  • Take documented manual test cases, business requirements, and technical specs and turn them into reliable, maintainable automated coverage.
  • Design, build, and maintain the automated test framework for web and API testing.
  • Develop and maintain functional, regression, and API test suites.
  • Validate test data through database queries and backend verification.
  • Troubleshoot flaky tests and continuously improve reliability and execution performance.

Lead the automation practice
  • Set automation standards and best practices, and drive consistency across the QA team.
  • Mentor automation engineers and QA analysts; be the go-to technical expert for automation.
  • Deliver documentation and training on tools, framework usage, and test design.
  • Participate in sprint planning, development meetings, and defect triage.

Improve the process with AI
  • Apply AI tools to accelerate and strengthen the QA process - e.g., AI-assisted test-case authoring, automated script generation, self-healing tests, and coverage analysis.
  • Identify bottlenecks in the current testing workflow and drive measurable improvements in speed, coverage, and quality.
  • Champion an AI-first mindset within the SQA team and share what works.

Integrate and collaborate
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and align automation with build and release workflows.
  • Support cross-browser testing, parallel execution, and environment configuration.
  • Partner with Development, Product, and Support to investigate defects and validate fixes.
  • Communicate automation status, risks, and progress to SQA management.
  • Assist with manual testing when needed to support release timelines.

Requirements
Must-Have, Proven Capabilities
These are the non-negotiables. We'll be looking for concrete, "I did this" examples - not theory.
  • Converting manual test cases into automation at scale - a demonstrated track record of building or migrating a real automated suite from manual cases.
  • Technical leadership - proven experience mentoring engineers, setting standards, and being the automation authority on a team.
  • Hands-on use of AI tools to improve QA - real, demonstrable examples of using AI to cut manual effort, expand coverage, or speed up release cycles.
  • Strong automation fundamentals - solid framework design across web and API, plus CI/CD integration.

What Makes You a Great Fit
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • 5+ years of automated testing experience in a professional software environment.
  • 3+ years building or significantly enhancing automation frameworks.
  • 3+ years of RESTful API test automation.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate requirements and manual test cases into reliable automated scripts.

Technical Skills
  • Automation stack: JavaScript, Microsoft Playwright, Postman (API automation)
  • Web: Angular testing strategies, cross-browser automation
  • CI/CD & DevOps: Jenkins, Git-based source control, pipeline-driven test execution
  • Databases: Oracle and/or MySQL for test-data validation
  • Platforms: Windows OS / Windows Server; mobile testing across Android and iOS
  • AI tooling: Practical experience with AI-assisted testing tools (strongly preferred; see must-haves)
  • Legacy (desirable): Visual Basic for legacy test support, if applicable

Professional & Interpersonal Skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong documentation and organizational discipline
  • Demonstrated mentoring and knowledge-sharing ability
  • High attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality
  • Enthusiasm for solving complex technical challenges

Compensation and Benefits
  • The base salary range for this position is $110,000-$120,000 per year
  • Eligibility for an annual performance bonus and additional benefits.
  • Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
