Salesforce Qa Manager information

What does a Salesforce QA Manager do?

A Salesforce QA Manager oversees the quality assurance process for Salesforce implementations and integrations within an organization. They lead a team of QA analysts and testers, develop test strategies, create and maintain test plans, and ensure that Salesforce solutions meet business requirements and function as expected. They also coordinate with developers, business analysts, and stakeholders to identify defects, manage testing timelines, and ensure the overall quality of the Salesforce platform. Their role is critical for minimizing errors, improving user experience, and ensuring system reliability.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Salesforce QA Manager?

To thrive as a Salesforce QA Manager, you need a strong background in software quality assurance, Salesforce platform knowledge, and experience in test planning and execution, often supported by a relevant degree and Salesforce certifications. Familiarity with automated testing tools (like Selenium or Provar), CI/CD systems, and Salesforce-specific testing frameworks is typically expected. Leadership, problem-solving abilities, and excellent communication skills help manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders effectively. These skills ensure the delivery of high-quality Salesforce solutions, minimize defects, and support organizational business objectives.

What are some common challenges faced by Salesforce QA Managers when overseeing multiple testing projects simultaneously?

Salesforce QA Managers often encounter challenges such as balancing competing project deadlines, managing resource allocation, and ensuring consistent testing standards across various teams. Coordinating automated and manual testing efforts while adapting to frequent updates in Salesforce releases can also be demanding. Effective communication and proactive risk management are key to maintaining quality and staying aligned with stakeholders in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Job description

Job Title: Salesforce QA
Location: Sunnyvale, CA - Onsite

Salesforce QA experience:
  • Functional testing of flows, validation rules, page layouts, permission sets, and CPQ/quoting logic
  • CPQ/Revenue Cloud (RCA) experience โ€” must have hands-on testing experience with Salesforce CPQ or Revenue Cloud Advanced, including quote creation, product configuration, pricing rules, discount schedules, and approval workflows. This is the core of the 1GFO sales motion and is non-negotiable
  • End-to-end testing across integrated systems (not just SFDC in isolation)
  • Ability to write and execute test cases and test scripts without heavy hand-holding
  • Experience testing lead-to-cash or quote-to-cash workflows
  • Familiarity with data validation โ€” comparing source vs. destination records and identifying mismatches
  • Basic SOQL โ€” enough to query records and verify data integrity directly in Salesforce
  • Regression testing discipline: a structured approach to re-testing after each deployment
  • SOX/audit documentation โ€” experience producing test evidence packages that meet audit standards: test scripts with expected vs. actual results, pass/fail sign-off, tester attestation, and clear traceability from control requirement to test execution. This person will be handing evidence directly to the SOX team for change management approval, so documentation quality is non-negotiable
