Job description

The School of Professional Studies is seeking a Senior Administrative Manager to provide support to the Dean and senior leadership on strategic planning initiatives, including manage schedules and travel, assist with budget planning, prepare correspondence and presentations, and coordinate special projects. Work with senior leadership, administrative and academic offices, division heads, and external organizations. The role includes delegating tasks to student employees, direct and monitor the timely completion of projects, and maintain a well-organized and professional office environment. 

Please note this is a fully onsite position.


Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Education:
Master's Degree
Required Experience:
5+ years Progressively responsible experience in academic administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must include experience managing office operations and staff, planning and implementing projects and activities, and collecting and analyzing data
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities under deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. Requires excellent organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills; strong research and writing skills, research; and ability to effectively communicate sensitive information verbally and in writing to a diverse population. Good judgment, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidence are essential. Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) and experience with financial software (travel and expense platforms, etc.) and databases.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Strongly preferred knowledge of office administration and experience within higher education.


In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $77,000.00 to USD $95,000.00. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
