Becoming a Spotify Artist helps musicians reach a global audience and grow their fanbase.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Spotify artist, and why are they important?

We work to scale the user experience for hundreds of millions of fans and hundreds of thousands of advertisers. This scale brings unique challenges as well as tremendous opportunities for our artists and creators.

Sell what you love. For us and millions of users across the globe, that's Spotify. Join the Sales team and you'll build the relationships that help grow our business in existing markets and beyond. We don't just sell creative solutions to our clients and partners, we help to shape them; using our expert knowledge of ad products, sales channels and the industry to impact the way the world experiences music and podcasts.

Our Advertising Product & Technology team is building the next generation advertising platform for audio and video at Spotify. We create thoughtful, non-interruptive ad experiences that power free listening for hundreds of millions of fans around the world. From display to video, our work lives across some of the most highly trafficked surfaces in the app-helping connect listeners, creators, and advertisers in meaningful ways.

What You'll Do:
  • Build and evolve ad experiences that allow millions of listeners to enjoy Spotify for free
  • Collaborate with engineers across Android, iOS, backend, and web, along with product, design, and data partners to ship impactful features
  • Write clean, maintainable code that scales across teams and products
  • Contribute to the technical direction, architecture, and best practices for Android development within Advertising
  • Improve app performance, reliability, and user experience across ad surfaces
  • Help shape reusable components and libraries that support fast, consistent development
  • Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive, and autonomous team environment
Who You Are:
  • You know how to write clear, idiomatic Kotlin or Java and build maintainable Android applications
  • You are experienced with modern Android frameworks and development tools
  • You have a strong understanding of Android architecture patterns and API design
  • You care about code quality, performance, and delivering polished user experiences
  • You understand how mobile applications connect with backend systems end-to-end
  • You have shipped at least one app to the Google Play Store or have a project you can walk us through
  • You value collaboration and contribute to a positive, inclusive team environment
  • You have 2+ years of experience building Android applications
Where You'll Be:
  • We offer you the flexibility to work where you work best! For this role, you can be within the Americas region as long as we have a work location.
  • This team operates within the Eastern Standard time zone for collaboration.
The United States base range for this position is $107,483 -$153,547 USD, plus equity. The benefits available for this position include health insurance, six-month paid parental leave, 401(k) retirement plan, monthly meal allowance, 23 paid days off, paid flexible holidays, and paid sick leave. These ranges may be modified in the future.
