General Definition of Work The Town of Blacksburg Parks and Recreation Department is seeking highly experienced and motivated instructors to lead specialized sports clinics. This position is designed for individuals with advanced knowledge and proven experience in specific skill development areas such as: Baseball/Softball (pitching, hitting, fielding) Basketball (shooting, ball handling, position-specific training) Other sport-specific skill development areas Instructors will design and implement high-quality training sessions that go beyond basic recreation, focusing on skill progression, technique refinement, and player development. Programs may be offered seasonally, ongoing, or in short-term clinic formats, and may serve a variety of age groups and skill levels.
This position is responsible for delivering structured, engaging, and development-focused instruction that enhances participant performance and fosters long-term interest in the sport.
