The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a Full-Time Lead Fitness and Sports Specialist (NH-0030-02) to work at the 66th Force Support Squadron, 66th Air Base Group, at Hanscom AFB in Bedford, MA.

Qualifications/Requirements:
In this position you will serve as the team leader over the installation fitness and sports staff and plan, manage, and administer a comprehensive year-round base fitness and sports program and the facilities used to conduct it. The program includes group exercise classes, incentive programs, special events, and fitness improvement programs for military members, along with self-directed, intramural, extramural, and varsity sports.
U.S. Citizenship
Must obtain and maintain a favorable Tier 1 background investigation (NACI); no security clearance required.
This is a designated Drug Testing Position - subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
A bachelor's degree or equivalent on-the-job experience in a fitness, sports, or recreation-related field is desired.
Must complete all mandatory training in accordance with AFI 34-266, Air Force Fitness and Sports Programs.
A valid state driver's license is required; the position requires operation of personal or government vehicles.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment physical; the work requires physical dexterity, heavy physical exertion, and exposure to hazardous materials.
Subject to TDY by military or commercial aircraft approximately 5 days per year.
Subject to an uncommon tour of duty to meet program requirements, including nights, weekends, and holidays; may be required to work unscheduled or emergency overtime.
Working knowledge of fitness and sports program principles - exercise science, strength and conditioning, nutrition, cardiovascular endurance, and fitness assessment.
Experience managing programs and facilities, including safety, fire, and environmental requirements, facility design, and equipment selection and purchase.
Experience building and managing appropriated fund (APF) and nonappropriated fund (NAF) budgets and five-year equipment replacement plans.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to lead a team, train staff and volunteers, market programs, and brief leadership.
