Old Colony YMCA has brought people together in communities throughout Massachusetts for 130 years and counting! This is a place where people of all ages, genders, religions, cultures, and beliefs can come together to learn from each other, get healthy, and find strength.
We do this important and compelling work through eight full-facility branches, a multi-site child care branch; a branch serving families experiencing homelessness and a branch that operates residential/non-residential programs for adolescents and adults. The Old Colony YMCA has a $61 million operating budget, and approximately 2,000 employees. Our corporate offices are located in Brockton, MA.
The Old Colony YMCA is seeking to employ a Sports & Program Coordinator at our Taunton Branch. This individual will have the opportunity to coordinate all aspects of our sports programming including our youth basketball league, sports clinics, and much more. The coordinator will ensure families in the community have the opportunity to host an incredible birthday party at the Y, as well as creating new programming to meet the needs of those in the Taunton community.

JOB SUMMARY:
Coordinates and facilitates, along with the Executive Director and with the help of branch staff, all Taunton YMCA's program offerings and Leagues with the goal of ensuring smooth day to day operations of all programs and to support other YMCA philanthropic efforts. She/he will provide friendly, courteous, and prompt service to all members, clients, and volunteers of the Y. S/he will accept and display the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
PROGRAM/DEPARTMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage the day the day operations of programming and leagues
  • Develop new sports programming and leagues for youth, teens and adults
  • Outreach to wider community to develop recreation partnerships and services beyond our walls
  • Oversee and consistently evaluate any and all sports/program offerings
  • Formulate and monitor related budget lines to ensure SPD/PD meets budgeted goals
  • Some direct teaching with children, equipment set-up and breakdown for classes
  • Function as point of contact for leagues, adult and youth
  • Maintain programming spaces and ensure equipment is kept in good condition
  • Meet with supervisors as directed
  • Attend mandatory training sessions and all site directors meetings
  • Cross sell programming, events, and birthday parties.
