What is a sports performance internship?

A Sports Performance Internship is a temporary position designed for students or recent graduates interested in gaining hands-on experience in the field of sports performance and athletic training. Interns typically assist experienced coaches and trainers in developing and implementing strength, conditioning, and injury prevention programs for athletes. This role may involve working with various sports teams, conducting fitness assessments, monitoring athlete progress, and learning about nutrition and recovery strategies. The internship provides valuable practical exposure and can be a stepping stone to a career in sports science, coaching, or athletic training.

What types of hands-on experiences can I expect during a sports performance internship?

Collaboration with coaches, athletic trainers, and other interns is common, offering a team-oriented environment where you can develop both technical and interpersonal skills valuable for a future career in sports performance.
