JOB SUMMARY: The Director, REG Partnership Development is responsible for creating and selling integrated corporate partnerships across multiple REG partnered properties, including but not limited to Detroit Sports Commission, Amphitheater, Cleveland Pro Soccer, Lake Erie Crushers, and Pickle in the Land. This role is designed for an experienced, dynamic seller with a strong partnership sales background who can drive new partnership revenue growth while leading the sale of large-scale Naming Rights and Presenting Partnerships. The primary objective of the Director, REG Partnership Development is to achieve an individual corporate partnerships revenue goal for the REG Properties team while contributing to the overall REG Properties revenue targets. This individual may also identify opportunities to integrate partnerships with the Cleveland Cavaliers into broader franchise initiatives when appropriate. This position offers a competitive salary structure with commission and bonus potential. Reports to: Vice President, Business Development, REG Properties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Achieve business results and revenue goals aligned with the overall partnership sales strategy.
  • Generate new corporate partnership revenue directly for REG Properties through proactive prospecting and disciplined pipeline management.
  • Prospect and develop new business at the local, regional, and national levels through investigative meetings, discovery conversations, presentations, and strategic follow-up.
  • Identify key decision-makers, uncover business objectives, and build customized integrated solutions that meet prospect needs.
  • Develop and present dynamic partnership programs designed to create meaningful brand alignment and measurable business value.
  • Overcome objections, navigate complex sales cycles, and close business accurately through contract execution, billing coordination, and revenue collection.
  • Build fully integrated sales proposals that may include intellectual property rights, media, activations, promotions, signage, community platforms, and hospitality assets.
  • Support the implementation of sold partnerships in coordination with internal and external stakeholders to ensure deadlines, deliverables, and partner expectations are met.
  • Assist in the execution of promotions, point-of-purchase materials, prize fulfillment, and media trafficking as needed to support sold programs.
  • Entertain and nurture relationships with current and prospective clients through meetings, events, and other available touchpoints that strengthen business development efforts.
  • Work cross-functionally with external properties, including marketing, community relations, and operations, to create compelling and fully integrated partnership platforms.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging categories, and best practices in sports and entertainment partnerships to identify innovative new business opportunities.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in business, communications, marketing, sports management, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience in sports partnership sales, media sales, and/or direct B2B sales is preferred; sports and event marketing experience is required.
  • Proven ability to prospect, pitch, negotiate, and close new corporate partnerships in a target-driven environment is strongly preferred.
  • Strong demonstration of intellect, drive, executive presence, sales acumen, creativity, and relationship-building ability is essential for success in the role.
