Job description

POSITION PURPOSE:

Conducts club fitness programs, such as group classes or personal training sessions for all ages and skill levels. Promotes and encourages participation in the Club’s Fitness program. Evaluate, educate, and motivate members/guests and guarantee member/guest satisfaction and safety in matters concerning the fitness industry. Professionalism, friendly and outgoing personality, enthusiasm, passion for fitness industry, great communication skills and a helpful attitude are the cornerstone characteristics of this position.


ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promote healthy lifestyle by teaching fitness classes and providing personal training services to the members/guests in accordance with standards in a safe, effective manner. Responsible for member fitness assessments, to include, but not limited to member interviews, body composition analysis, strength, endurance, and flexibility assessments, along with personalized exercise program development and implementation. Responsible for member orientations, to include, but not limited to exercise leadership in cardiovascular conditioning, strength training and stretching guidelines. Supervise and assist members and guests using the studio to ensure facility standards are being followed.

• Plan and organize special events.

• Assist in the maintenance of the equipment.

• Maintain accurate payroll paperwork.

• Promote Spa services/treatments and Sports programs.

• Assist in all areas of Spa/Sports Operations as needed.

• Assist other operations with special projects.

• Attend all scheduled meetings.

• Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established by the company from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Employees with irregular attendance will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.

• Due to the cyclical nature of our industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the company. Due to the hospitality nature of our industry, employees may be required to work on weekends and/or on observed holidays.

• Upon employment, all employees are required to fully comply with the company’s rules and regulations for the safe and efficient operation of the facilities. Employees who violate the rules and regulations will be subject to disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.


EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• High School education is required.

• 2 years of experience in Fitness Industry (teaching classes/ providing personal training) required.

• National Certification required.

• Associates must maintain a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (specific standards outlined in employee handbook).

• Basic computer skills.

• Full-time associates must schedule vacations during the off-season months.

• A proper uniform must be worn while on duty.

• Ability to provide consistent professional fitness class and personal training sessions in accordance with Spa protocol and accepted certification practices.

• Ability to design a safe, effective, and innovative exercise program personalized to the fitness level of the members/guests.


• Ability to guide the members/guests through a series of tests to establish their current fitness level and to set up safe, effective fitness goals for them.

• Ability to introduce the members/guests to the cardiovascular and resistance training equipment, explaining how to properly use the equipment and avoid injury while achieving maximum results.

• Ability to incorporate new techniques, methods, and developments into the programs.

• Ability to motivate others.

• Ability to listen effectively and to speak English.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to achieve positive guest relations and maximize guest satisfaction by providing accurate, appropriate, and immediate responses to all members’/guests’ requests and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.

• Ability to work without constant direct supervision.

• Ability to work in a team.
