Job Description Sports Instructor: $17.00/hr Private Sports Instructor: $40.00/hr Seasonal: May through July Monday - Thursday varying shifts of 8:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. for tennis lessons and possible CARA Tennis team practices

Friday varying shifts of 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. for CARA Tennis Team Matches

Location: Brighton High School Tennis Courts, various site locations for matches. NATURE OF WORK The Sports Department provides a Tennis Instructor to teach tennis for youth ages 6-18. They will provide full practices including technique and skill development of Tennis.

The Tennis Instructor will need to be able to properly score games and scrimmages. Essential Duties Conducts lessons and practices that oversee the safety of players and ensure the tennis rules are followed. Listens to and follows instructions provided by CARA Head Tennis Coach Immediately reports problems, inappropriate situations or behaviors to Sports Supervisor.

Ability to multitask and provide proper tennis lessons to participants. Maintains regular and predictable attendance. Secures a substitute if unable to cover scheduled shift and notifies Sport Coordinator of schedule substitutions prior to the change.

Performs other duties as assigned. Other Duties and Responsibilities The Tennis Instructor is accountable for providing tennis lessons where participants develop their skills/techniques/knowledge of tennis. The Tennis Instructor assures that the site is kept neat and clean throughout the day, maintains supplies/equipment and attends staff meetings.

Required Education, Experience and Formal Training The candidate must be at least 16 years of age. Candidate must also pass a background check. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge and understanding of Tennis Rules and Regulations.

Experience working with children ages 6 years to 18 years old. Physical Requirements The candidate must have sufficient strength, agility, stamina and flexibility to move or carry up to 50 pounds, stand, crouch, kneel, bend and stoop while assisting children and adults for extended periods of time. The candidate must have adequate hearing and vision in order to discriminate between different sounds, objects, people and colors at near and far distances.
