Job description

SPORTS INFORMATION COORDINATOR

Summary - The Sports Information Coordinator is responsible for managing the athletics communications and media relations for the university's athletics department. This position promotes athletic programs, student-athletes, and coaches through strategic storytelling, media engagement, and digital content while enhancing the visibility of the athletics department at the conference, regional, and national levels.

Description -

1. Write and distribute press releases, game recaps, feature stories, and statistical reports

2. Coordinate media coverage, interviews, and press conferences

3. Maintain athletics website content and oversee social media platforms

4. Create digital content including graphics, videos, and live updates

5. Coordinate game day media operations and statistical reporting

6. Produce publications such as media guides, game notes, and record books

7. Nominate student-athletes for conference, regional, and national awards

8. Supervise student workers, interns, and/or graduate assistants

9. Collaborate with coaches and athletics staff on promotional initiatives

10. Perform other duties as assigned

11. Maintain regular attendance

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree

Experience:

1. Experience in sports information, athletics communication, and/or related area

2. Knowledge in NCAA statistics and reporting procedures

3. Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience:

1. Experience at the collegiate level, preferably NCAA Division II

2. Experience with SIDEARM Sports, StatCrew, NCAA LiveStats, and/or Genius Sports

3. Experience with Graphic design and video editing

3. Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
