About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic, media-savvy Vice President of Strategic Communications to join our senior leadership team. In this role, you will serve as a trusted strategic advisor to a high-profile roster of clients spanning film & television, professional sports, alternative investments, and kids & family entertainment. You will lead multi-disciplinary communications teams, drive integrated PR strategies, and help shape the public narratives of some of the most recognized brands and personalities in the entertainment industry.
This is a highly visible role that requires equal parts creative vision, business acumen, and executive presence. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced agency environment, excels at building lasting client relationships, and knows how to navigate complex reputational challenges with confidence and discretion.
Key Responsibilities
Client Strategy & Counsel
  • Serve as primary strategic advisor for a portfolio of accounts across entertainment verticals, including film, TV, sports, kids & family media and financial sector entities backing these verticals
  • Develop and execute comprehensive, integrated communications strategies aligned with each client's business objectives and brand identity
  • Provide executive-level counsel on reputation management, crisis communications, and high-stakes media situations
  • Lead campaign development and execution

Media Relations & Storytelling
  • Cultivate and maintain deep relationships with journalists, editors, bookers/producers and content creators across entertainment, business, trade, and consumer media
  • Identify and secure earned media opportunities that advance client narratives across print, digital, broadcast, and podcast platforms
  • Oversee the development of compelling press materials including pitches, releases, talking points, op-eds, and long-form content
  • Lead message development and media training for C-suite executives, talent, and public-facing spokespeople

Team Leadership & Agency Growth
  • Manage, mentor, and inspire a team of directors, managers, and coordinators, fostering a culture of excellence and professional development
  • Partner with agency leadership on new business development, including pitching prospective clients and expanding existing relationships
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with PMK and ACC teams to deliver integrated campaigns
  • Serve as an ambassador for the agency's culture, values, and capabilities in the marketplace

Cross-Sector Expertise
  • Navigate the nuanced communications needs of clients across diverse sectors
  • Monitor industry trends, competitive landscape, and cultural conversations to provide proactive, forward-thinking counsel
  • Support crisis communications and sensitive issues management with discretion, speed, and sound judgment

Requirements
Qualifications
Required
  • 10+ years of public relations or communications experience, with at least 4 years at a senior level in an agency environment
  • Demonstrated track record of success across entertainment, sports, media, or adjacent industries
  • Proven ability to manage and grow client relationships at the executive level
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft and refine messaging across audiences and platforms
  • Strong existing relationships with key entertainment, trade, and business media
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously with grace under pressure
  • Fluency with AI and LLM tools

Preferred
  • Experience with film & television publicity
  • Familiarity with sports communications or league/team PR
  • Exposure to financial or alternative investment communications
  • Background working with children's entertainment brands, IP licensing, or family media
