Job description

Since 1994, SPORTIME has been proud to operate the finest tennis and sports facilities in New York State. SPORTIME's 20 club locations most recently expanded to include the iconic Port Washington Tennis Academy, now SPORTIME Port Washington. SPORTIME currently offers 192 indoor and outdoor tennis courts and 131 pickleball courts, as well as rinks, turf, camps, gyms and more, at sites across Long Island, in NYC, in Westchester and in the NY Capital Region. SPORTIME clubs are state-of-the-art, yet affordable, and feature the best tennis, pickleball, sports and camp facilities and programs, including the John McEnroe Tennis Academy (JMTA) and SPORTIME Volleyball Club (VBC). SPORTIME clubs serve individuals of every age and athletic ability, 365 days a year.

JOB SUMMARY

To implement all multi-sport instructional, recreational and competitive programs within a facility. To assist with the hiring, training and supervision of all multi-sport teaching staff, party staff and front desk to ensure the proper implementation of our programs and to provide the highest level of service to our members and program participants.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • To assist the General Manager with the recruitment, hiring and training of all multi-sport teachers, party staff and front desk staff at their site.
  • To supervise all teachers on a daily basis to ensure the proper implementation of the program curriculum.
  • To understand and monitor the multi-sport budget in order to reach agreed upon financial goals for the multi-sport profit center.
  • To inventory all equipment and party supplies and to order new equipment and supplies when necessary.
  • To maintain a safe and presentable facility at all times.
  • To sell all multi-sport programs and to complete all administrative tasks that accompany those sales.
  • To assist with program billing inquiries, membership sales, and general club information when required.
  • To work closely with the club general manager to ensure the highest level of service to club members.
  • To educate front desk staff about programs and procedures.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience in sports, recreationorfitness, including supervisory or leadership experience
  • Strong communication skills - oral and written
  • Excellent management skills
  • Excellent people skills
WORK CONTEXT/ACTIVITIES
  • In addition to the responsibilities and qualifications set forth above, this position requires physical activity, including but not limited to:
    • Use of both fine and gross motor skills
    • Use of abdominal and lower back muscles, continuously over time, without fatigue
    • Sit and to stand for long periods of time
COMPENSATION

$70,000 per year

SUPPLEMENTAL

On-site, shared housing available, if needed.

  • Health, dental and vision insurance - Full-Time employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime's group health, dental and vision insurance plans on the first day of the month after they have worked 60 days. Premiums are deducted pre-tax from employees’ gross pay; Sportime contributes to the premiums of employees based upon gross pay thresholds.
  • 401k Plan with employer match - Employees are eligible to enroll in Sportime's 401k retirement plan, with matching, after they have completed one year of continuous service, worked at least 1000 hours in such calendar or anniversary year, and are over 21 years old.
