Job description

Great for college students and those looking for a second job!
Please Note: The start date for this position is the end of July.
As a Sports Data Coordinator based in the River North area of Chicago, you'll play a key role in live college sports coverage. For the football season, you'll monitor real-time data from FBS and FCS College Football games and for the basketball season, you'll monitor real-time data for Division 1 Basketball games ensuring accuracy by comparing data collected by our in-venue Data Collectors with live broadcasts and official box scores.
This is a part-time, fast-paced role that's perfect for sports enthusiasts who thrive under pressure and want a front-row seat to the action - all while gaining hands-on experience in the sports data and analytics field.
What You'll Do
Step into the fast-paced world of live college sports and help power the data behind the game. As a Sports Data Coordinator, you will:
  • Need to be available for evening, weekend, and holiday shifts - because that's when games are being played.
  • Monitor and validate real-time data coming in from college football games, ensuring the information is accurate and up to the second.
  • Use our proprietary web tools to review and edit game lineups, scores, player stats, and event details before, during, and after games.
  • Report live stats as needed, helping ensure our clients get the most accurate updates as the action unfolds.
  • Bring a strong focus on precision, speed, and data integrity to every shift - your accuracy helps fuel the wider sports ecosystem.
  • Communicate and escalate issues quickly and professionally, staying calm under pressure while juggling multiple tasks.
  • Stay sharp with a working knowledge of NCAA rules, teams, and players, helping you recognize and react to key game events.

What Helps You Stand Out
While not required, the following experience and skills will give you an edge:
  • Familiarity with college sports stats, rules and tracking tools.
  • An understanding of best practices for live data collection and attention to detail.
  • Comfort using Office 365 applications and VoIP communication platforms (e.g., Zoom, Slack).

What You'll Get from Us
We know this job is unique - and so are the perks. When you join our team, you'll benefit from:
  • A chance to get paid to watch live sports while contributing to real-time sports data operations at the forefront of the industry.
  • A collaborative, supportive work environment where your ideas and attention to detail truly matter.
  • Opportunities for both personal and professional development, especially valuable for those looking to grow in sports, data, or media fields.
  • A flexible, part-time schedule, perfect as a secondary role or for balancing with school or other commitments.
  • A convenient River North Chicago location - steps from the Chicago Brown Line stop.
  • 401(k) with company match and PTO
  • A straightforward recruitment process including:
    • A practical sports knowledge challenge
    • An initial video discussion
    • An in-person interview with real-world scenarios and collaboration exercises.
