POSITION SUMMARY:
The Manager of Sponsorship Activation will collaborate with clients and internal teams on the strategy and management of sponsorship assets for the Dallas Mavericks. In this role, you will be responsible for leading key initiatives inclusive of driving revenue through upsells, execution of various activations, and fostering meaningful relationships with sponsors while upholding the integrity of the Dallas Mavericks brand and core values.
The candidate should have a proven record of success demonstrating first-class service, creativity, reporting and management skills, inventory management, solution-based ideas, and possess the ability to deliver assets in a successful manner that may lead to additional opportunities for generating revenue.
JOB FUNCTION:
  • Understand the business goals and objectives of your client and strategically provide solutions and recommendations to grow their business and help connect their brand to the Dallas Mavericks fan base
  • Serve as main point of contact and work cross-functionally with internal teams to ensure an elevated level of execution, customer service, and fulfillment of all deliverables within budget parameters
  • Manage corporate sponsorship accounts and asset details via CRM system
  • Work Dallas Mavericks home games and other Mavericks events assigned to execute and monitor sponsor activations, including nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
  • Utilize research & data analysis to position campaigns, shift assets as needed, and deliver proof of performance
  • Identify, present, and sell new activation ideas to drive upsell revenue by utilizing internal resources and sales tactics
  • Build strong relationships with sponsors and establish trust that contracts will be executed successfully
  • Identify synergies between priorities/initiatives and corporate sponsor objectives
  • Provide regular and consistent communication including recaps, reporting, and proof of performance updates
  • Plan and execute events, promotions, sweepstakes, and VIP experiences

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Detail-oriented with strong organization, listening, and communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to prioritize projects, manage time, and meet strict deadlines
  • Critical thinker who takes a solutions-focused mindset to solving complex problems
  • Maintains confidentiality and uses discretion when made aware of sensitive information
  • Must be comfortable working collaboratively within an intense and fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of consumer behavior and enhancing guest satisfaction
  • Proven experience in building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external parties or stakeholders

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Sport Marketing/Advertising/Marketing ideal)
  • 3-5 years of corporate sponsorship sales and/or account management experience, preferably within the sports industry
  • Experience managing relationships with sponsors, agency contacts, and other key stakeholders
  • Experience in stadiums/arenas or high-volume special events is preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite is required
  • Experience within the following platforms categories is preferred:
  • CRM or Inventory management software such as KORE or Salesforce
  • Project management software such as Asana
  • Experience in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to work home games & events as necessary - including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
