These abilities ensure accurate order fulfillment, workplace safety, and smooth warehouse operations.

What is a split case job?

A split case job typically refers to a warehouse or distribution center role where workers pick individual items from cases or boxes, rather than handling full cases or pallets. These workers are responsible for selecting the exact quantity of products required for an order, which is common in order fulfillment for retailers or e-commerce businesses. The job often involves walking along picking lines, using handheld scanners, and ensuring accuracy in order selection. Attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment are important for split case workers.

What are the typical daily responsibilities of a Split Case Picker in a warehouse setting?

As a Split Case Picker, your main responsibility is to accurately pick individual items from larger cases to fulfill customer orders. This role often involves reading pick tickets or using handheld scanners to locate products, ensuring correct quantities, and preparing items for packing and shipment. You may work alongside other pickers, packers, and shipping staff in a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and efficiency. Split Case Pickers frequently move between different warehouse zones and may use carts or conveyors to transport items, so physical stamina and good organizational skills are important.
