Position Summary
Spire is currently seeking a Consultant. This individual would be responsible for assisting owners, contractors, and subcontractors across numerous sectors within the AEC industry, on both proactive and forensic consulting projects related to project controls (time, cost, and risk). Assist with the completion of client engagements and internal projects. Promote Spire's company values and work to achieve the company's core purpose.
Responsibilities
  • Manage, review, and analyze project documents.
  • Evaluate project planning, cost management, and schedule development.
  • Compile project data in support of various analyses.
  • Perform legal and industry standards research.
  • Assist with various technical analyses, including changed work, schedule delay, acceleration, productivity loss, standard of care, and quantification of damages.
  • Prepare demonstrative aids to assist with conveying findings to key stakeholders.
  • Support engagement team with summarizing preliminary findings in preparation for client meetings and/or deliverables.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for expert witness use during mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
  • Assist with the creation of SOPs and templates.
  • Prioritize and work concurrently on multiple projects while meeting required goals and deadlines.
  • Ensure work products conform to the highest quality standards; develop and enforce best practices.
  • Consistently apply QA/QC guidelines set forth by Spire.
  • Develop and provide feedback on company standards, procedures, and processes.
  • Participate in companywide business strategy review meetings.
  • Engage with industry organizations to stay informed on emerging trends and actively seek opportunities to contribute as a thought leader.
  • Applies foundational knowledge gained as an Associate Consultant while actively expanding expertise and contributing to the development of others.
  • Applies knowledge gained through industry research and continued learning to real-world project work, while deepening technical and business expertise in preparation for advancement to the next level.
  • Actively engages in learning new methodologies and technical skillsets, applying critical thinking and attention to detail in day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Demonstrates strong communication skills, curiosity, and a self-motivated approach to exploring and understanding assigned work. Proactively takes initiative to deepen expertise and contribute beyond immediate tasks.
  • Continue to build knowledge and consistently apply techniques and methodologies relevant to analysis support within the role.
  • Communicate effectively with clients and Spire staff in writing, in person, and over the phone.
  • Supports client communication through clear, professional verbal and written interactions, including the creation of visual aids and demonstratives.
  • Builds familiarity with business development by observing and participating in client development conversations and related strategic efforts.
  • Conducts industry research and deepens technical and business knowledge to support ongoing professional growth and readiness for advancement.

Education/Qualifications
โ€ข Master's degree in Engineering, Construction or related discipline preferred.
โ€ข Bachelor's degree may be accepted with relevant project experience.
โ€ข Three (3) to five (5) years of engineering, construction, or related experience preferred.
Skills
โ€ข Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
โ€ข Proficiency in standard industry tools such as Primavera, Microsoft Project, RS Means, Microsoft Visio, and Sage.
โ€ข Ability to learn and adapt new software tools and systems.
