The Opportunity
Spiniello is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Purchasing & Receiving Clerk to support the daily procurement and material management operations that keep our projects running efficiently.
This position plays an important role in ensuring that materials, equipment, and supplies are ordered accurately, received promptly, and distributed efficiently to support field operations. Working closely with project teams, vendors, warehouse personnel, and accounting, the Purchasing & Receiving Clerk will help maintain organized purchasing processes while ensuring inventory and receiving activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, this individual will be responsible for supporting purchasing, receiving, inventory control, and vendor coordination while maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to the overall efficiency of the department.

Key Responsibilities
Purchasing & Procurement
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
  • Obtain pricing and coordinate with approved vendors to ensure timely delivery.
  • Track purchase orders and follow up on outstanding deliveries.
  • Assist with vendor communications regarding availability, lead times, pricing, and order status.

Receiving & Inventory
  • Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and condition.
  • Verify packing slips against purchase orders and report discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate receiving records and inventory documentation.
  • Assist with inventory counts and material tracking.
  • Coordinate material distribution to warehouse and project personnel.

Administrative Support
  • Maintain organized purchasing and receiving files.
  • Assist with invoice reconciliation and coordinate with Accounting to resolve discrepancies.
  • Enter purchasing and receiving information into company software systems.
  • Support department reporting and other administrative functions as assigned.

Qualifications Required
  • Previous experience in purchasing, receiving, warehouse operations, inventory control, or a related administrative role.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred
  • Experience in construction, utilities, industrial, or heavy civil environments.
  • Familiarity with purchasing or ERP software.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and material receiving procedures.
