How does a sperm donor's schedule typically work, and what should I expect in terms of time commitment and flexibility?

Sperm donors usually follow a flexible schedule, with appointments set at their convenience, often during clinic hours. Most clinics require donors to commit to regular donations over several months, sometimes asking for weekly or biweekly visits to ensure a consistent supply. Appointments are generally brief, but donors must also adhere to specific abstinence periods before each donation. It's important to be reliable and communicative with the clinic's team to maintain eligibility and ensure smooth coordination.

What are sperm?

Sperm are the male reproductive cells responsible for fertilizing the female egg during sexual reproduction. Each sperm cell carries half of the genetic information needed to form a new individual, which combines with the genetic material from the female's egg. Sperm are produced in the testicles and are a crucial part of human fertility. Healthy sperm are necessary for natural conception, and their quality can be affected by various lifestyle and health factors.
