Short Description:

The NC Forestry Division would like to migrate 10 existing legacy systems into their central Forest Service Accomplishment Portal.

Complete Description:

The North Carolina Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (NCDA&CS), NC Forest Service, plans to Develop a web-based Forest Service Accomplishment Portal (FSAP) to manage the collection of our accomplishment data. The system will contain multiple modules, and already includes Incident Response Tracking System, Information & Education Tracking System, Forest Management Request Tracking System, Community Wildfire Protection Plan System, and Pest Environmental Tracking System modules. Included is a GIS spatial component, and interfaces with county tax records to extract land owner information, and public interfaces. Additional modules to be developed are: Forest Management Accomplishment Reporting System, Safety Incident Tracking System, State Cost Share Tracking System, Forestry Vendor Information System, Employee Information System, Water Quality Tracking System, Prescribed Fire/Smoke Management, Incident Dispatching, and Incident Billing.

The existing systems consists of Microsoft Access databases, Excel spreadsheets, and paper documents. Updates are needed to effectively provide a visually appealing and user friendly interface, increased functionality by allowing the modules to interact and share information. Expected benefits will include more accessible information, better accomplishment tracking, public interfaces for ease of use, and improved analytics output. Implementation of the modules will occur throughout the period, and the expected Go Live date is June 30, 2020.
