Key Duties & Responsibilities
Driver Trainer & Leadership Functions
Onboarding & Mentorship: Conduct "ride-alongs" with new hires to evaluate driving skills, route knowledge, and customer service etiquette.
Technical Training: Train staff on the DriverAnywhere.net platform, electronic logging, and flight-tracking protocols.
Evaluation: Provide objective feedback to management regarding trainee progress and readiness for solo duty.
Safety Advocacy: Actively identify and report traffic hazards (construction, weather, accidents) to the fleet to ensure collective safety.
Transport & Operational Duties
Safe Transit: Execute contracted trips in a lawful, professional, and timely manner.
Client Relations: Greet clients within 30 seconds of contact; handle questions and concerns with immediate professionalism.
Logistics: Monitor real-time flight statuses and shift schedules via company software to ensure zero-lag pickups.
Financial Integrity: Securely collect client payments and protect sensitive customer financial/identifying information.
Fleet Maintenance: Perform daily "clean and tidy" inspections (inside/out); fuel vehicles and report mechanical issues to management immediately.
Trailer Proficiency: Master the ability to back cars/vans with trailers in high-pressure or tight-clearance environments.
Required Skill Set
Stress Management: Ability to maintain total composure during emergency situations or high-volume peak periods.
Spatial Awareness: Exceptional eyesight, hearing, manual dexterity, and coordination.
Technical Literacy: Ability to quickly learn and navigate GPS systems, driver confirmation software, and email.
Limited Assistance Protocol: Understand and strictly follow "no-lift" policies (offering only a hand for assistance) unless a client is in a wheelchair.
Local Knowledge: A strong memory for Anchorage-area destinations, routes, and "shortcut" contingencies for weather/traffic events.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Work is performed in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment headquartered in Anchorage.
Tobacco-Free: All vehicles and facilities are strictly smoke-free.
Shift Work: Shifts are typically 8 hours, 40 hours per week, but operate within a 24-hour window.
Nature of Work: Includes long periods of sitting, punctuated by bursts of high physical activity (loading luggage/cargo) and high-stress decision-making.
Note: Training sessions may occasionally occur outside of your standard shift hours and are a required condition of employment.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must demonstrate a mastery of professional driving and the ability to coach others. Minimum requirements include:
Licensing: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record; must obtain and maintain a DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Health Card).
Compliance: Ability to pass pre-employment and ongoing random Drug and Alcohol screenings.
Communication: Full professional proficiency in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
Physicality: Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly and sit for extended periods.
Disposition: A "Safety-First" mentality, high emotional intelligence, and a sincere desire to provide 1st-rate customer service.
Availability: Total flexibility is required. This is a 24/7 operation; weekends, holidays, and overtime are mandatory.
