Description:

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Project Leader - Machinery & Tools will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and monitoring all execution activities related to equipment manufacturing projects, from quotation phase through final delivery.


The selected candidate will play a key role in improving project structure, communication, follow-up, and workflow standardization within the M&T team while supporting the development of new types of equipment beyond traditional blow mold tooling activities.


PRINCIPLE DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS OF THE JOB

  • Prepare quotations, cost estimates, and project documentation for internal customers and manufacturing plants.
  • Establish project schedules and ensure follow-up on all project execution activities.
  • Coordinate activities between engineering, tooling, machining, purchasing, fabrication, and suppliers.
  • Monitor project budgets, timelines, risks, scope changes, and project status updates.
  • Ensure proper project documentation and workflow management through internal systems and Monday.com.
  • Support the implementation and standardization of project workflows from quotation to equipment completion.
  • Maintain clear communication and alignment between internal customers, manufacturing sites, suppliers, and technical teams.
  • Organize and lead project follow-up meetings and action tracking.
  • Ensure smooth coordination of equipment fabrication, delivery, installation, and startup activities when required.
  • Assist in prioritization and workload coordination across ongoing projects.
  • Promote a collaborative, team-oriented work environment focused on accountability and execution.
  • Work closely with the M&T USA team, M&T MEXICO team, Automation & Robotics team, and Howe's operations to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Actively participates in and maintains 5S workplace organization principles, leading 5S activities as needed while ensuring all tasks are performed in full compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of project management methods, documentation, and operational processes.
  • Support the growth and structuring of new equipment product lines within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

REQUIRED EDUCATION / SKILLS / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, project management, business, or other relevant fields.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in project coordination, manufacturing operations, quotations, or equipment-related projects.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong follow-up and coordination capabilities.
  • Team-oriented leadership style with a collaborative and solutions-driven mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively in a manufacturing environment.
  • Autonomous, structured, and detail oriented.
  • Customer-focused with strong sense of accountability and urgency.
  • Comfortable working with multidisciplinary teams and multiple sites.
  • Experience using project management and workflow tools (Monday.com experience is considered an asset).
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is considered an asset.
  • Available to travel occasionally.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Plastic industry experience;
  • Blow molding and injection molding equipment knowledge;
  • Tool shop or custom equipment manufacturing environment;
  • Automotive industry experience;
  • Experience coordinating fabrication and machining activities;
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD environments.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Manufacturing and office environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
  • Frequent exposure to manufacturing operations requires the ability to use all necessary safety equipment. Requires standing, walking, climbing, and occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Flexible hours may be required to support production and maintenance needs.
