Description:

The Shrine of St. Anne Catholic School is a K-8 grade school located in the heart of Olde Town, Arvada, CO. We are a close-knit community of families and students that support a nurturing community, reinforced family environment, rigorous academic curriculum and Catholic faith formation. Our Catholic faith is the heart of who we are. Under the patronage of St. Anne, we strive to educate the whole child spiritually, academically, physically, and socially within the loving community that surrounds our school. Students attend weekly mass, practice adoration and reconciliation, pray the rosary, and participate in daily religion or theology classes.


We also offer several spiritual retreat opportunities over the course of a student's time at our school. Our school's academic curriculum is set by the Archdiocese of Denver - Office of Catholic Schools. Students in grade Kindergarten through 8th participate in core curriculum in language arts (literature), social studies, science, mathematics, and religion/theology. Additionally, our school offers the following "specials": art, physical education, music/theater, Spanish, and technology. Please see our Academics page for information on our school's accreditation. We are seeking a part-time Spanish Teacher to work within our team.

Requirements:

Responsibilities

  • Uphold Catholic Identity: Teach and act in alignment with the doctrinal and moral teachings of the Catholic Church, and uphold the mission, philosophy, and policies of the Catholic school.
  • Instruction & Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver grade-appropriate lessons following the Archdiocese of Denver curriculum, including enrichment opportunities and differentiated instruction for students with 504 plans.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Maintain regular communication with parents, colleagues, and school leadership; attend required meetings and collaborate on school activities and projects.
  • Professional Development & Compliance: Participate in required training and professional development, maintain necessary certifications, and engage in annual performance reviews.
  • Classroom Management & School Duties: Ensure a safe and orderly learning environment, maintain accurate records, follow safety procedures, respect confidentiality, and perform assigned duties such as recess and lunchroom supervision.

Competencies and Qualifications

  • Commitment to Catholic Values: Be a fully initiated Catholic who lives according to Church teachings and avoids conduct contrary to Catholic doctrine or morals.
  • Professional Qualifications: Possess background and training in elementary education, understanding of child development, and effective classroom management skills.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Demonstrate effective communication, sound judgment, cooperation with staff, and the ability to relate well to students.
  • Compliance and Safety: Knowledge of safety procedures, willingness to implement them, and successful completion of a criminal background check with positive references.

Education and Experience

  • Requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, preferably in education.
  • Requires appropriate training, certification and/or credentialing.
  • Compliance with Safe Environment requirements.
  • Recommends appropriate state licensure for teaching.
