Job description

Qualis LLC is seeking a highly qualified Space Systems Analyst for the Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture (PWSA) Enterprise with demonstrated qualifications and proven experience in Space Systems to include MILSATCOM, Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR), Directed Energy, Electronic Warfare, proliferated low Earth orbit (pLEO) constellation support, and end-to-end missile warning, missile tracking, and missile defense as well as Position Navigation and Timing. This position requires operational test experience with a mathematical background in statistics. Experience in development of test measures and evaluation of missile warning, missile tracking, and missile defense preferred. Additionally, experience with experimental design, calculating statistical power and needed sample size, preferably experience with a data science-focused coding language (e.g., R or Python), and the ability to communicate ideas to non-statistics focused personnel is preferrable. This position will be filled at Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform Ops Research Analysis on the GPS Enterprise and MILSATCOM types of space systems
  • Perform analysis of test capabilities
  • Identify test capability requirements
  • Identify test capability shortfalls
  • Develop test methodologies and tools
  • Recommend approaches to operational test and integrated developmental / operational test activities
  • Provide inputs to Space Force Test Delta in support of planning requirements and OT&E activities
  • Collect and analyze data to assist in the evaluation of system readiness / effectiveness / suitability / progress, and make recommendations to the test director
  • Review, analyze, and report to test director status of Systems Program Office, and developmental contractor’s space systems documentation
  • Assist in determining the capability of the system to withstand natural and man-made threat environments, and quantify the degree of impairment
  • Assis tin preparing test documentation for inclusion in test and evaluation reports
  • Assist in the preparation of briefings or slides as part of the report coordination process
  • Assist in the preparation of lessons learned reports
  • Participate in Integrated Test Teams

Requirements

  • Must possess a BS degree in a science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) field
  • Background in OT&E preferred with understanding of integrated testing with Developmental and Contractor Testing. Preferably has experience with proliferated low Earth orbit (pLEO) constellation support, and Position Navigation and Timing
  • Understanding and use of statistical methods such as Design of Experiments and R
  • Background in operational testing highly desired
  • Background in space systems, missile warning, and satellite communications
  • Position requires practical application of:
  • The methods and techniques of engineering or systems architecture
  • The construction, application, properties, operations, and limitations of engineering systems, and processes
  • Ability to utilize Design of Experiments as it applies to test design
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced environment while being able to prioritize work to balance multiple projects and deadlines
  • Must have the ability to quickly understand the customers’ overall technical objectives and mission and provide effective solutions
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills along with customer interaction and presentation capabilities.
  • Must be able to work effectively alone or within a group
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Travel: 15-20% travel requirement.

Security Clearance:

  • Active DoD Top Secret security clearance required. Must be SCI eligible
  • Must be able to maintain level of clearance required for this position
