Job Description

BryceTech is seeking a Space Systems Engineer with experience in satellite systems and their integration with ground architectures. The ideal candidate will understand the satellite acquisition lifecycle, including development, source selection, design, integration, test, and launch.

The selected candidate will support engineering, analysis, planning, and program management activities for critical defense space capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical advice and engineering support to the customer's System Program Director and Chief Engineer.

  • Contribute to the design and development of next-generation resilient space systems supporting optical communications and missile tracking missions.

  • Develop and analyze enterprise, system, functional, performance, and interface requirements.

  • Assess the impact of satellite system requirements on ground architectures and mission performance.

  • Support integration of mission payloads (e.g., Link-16, Ka-band communications, DVB-S2, optical communications, onboard data processing, and missile warning/tracking sensors) with satellite bus systems.

  • Oversee satellite integration and testing activities, including coordination with ground systems and other satellite vendors to support mesh network operations.

  • Evaluate cybersecurity considerations across space-to-space and space-to-ground networking architectures.

  • Participate in design reviews, system integration activities, and launch preparation.

  • Coordinate with modeling and simulation teams to assess architectural performance and mission effectiveness.

  • Identify capability gaps and recommend technical solutions while balancing risk, schedule, and performance.

  • Support program management and systems engineering activities for the **Space Development Agency Tranche program delivering the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.

  • Collaborate with government, military, SETA, and FFRDC partners to support cross-functional program execution.

Qualifications
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM)

  • 8+ years of experience supporting satellite or ground systems development, integration, or testing

  • Experience with systems engineering processes, including requirements development, analysis, and traceability

  • Understanding of satellite and ground system architectures and their interactions

  • Experience supporting space system acquisition programs

  • Demonstrated project or technical task leadership experience

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to travel up to 10%
