Position Description:
Decision Technologies, Inc. (DTI) is seeking a Combat Systems Software Engineer to provide engineering support at Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division, Dam Neck Activity (NSWCDD DNA) in support of PEO USC and the FF(X) Fast Frigate program. This position supports the Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS) through Combat Systems Engineering, Software Support Activity (SSA), Cybersecurity Engineering, and Combat System Integration activities at the Advanced Test and Integration Laboratory (AATIL) and in operational test environments.
YOU MUST HAVE AN ACTIVE DOD SECURITY CLEARANCE
Responsibilities and Duties:
Combat Systems Integration & Test
  • Support AtWS integration, verification, validation, and test events in laboratory, pier-side, and at-sea environments
  • Assist in the management, maintenance, and operation of the AATIL combat systems laboratory
  • Support Combat Management System (CMS) integration, characterization, and fleet sustainment activities for the FF(X) AtWS
  • Validate CMS OEM software baselines and their integration with combat system elements across OEM lab, land-based, pier-side, and at-sea test events
  • Support planning and execution of Navy Core Testing (NCT) events and collection of Objective Quality Evidence (OQE) for system certification and fleet acceptance
  • Collect, analyze, document, and report test results validating system functionality, stability, reliability, and operational performance

Infrastructure & Systems Administration
  • Configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain Microsoft Windows, Linux, and VMware ESXi environments
  • Configure and maintain Cisco networking devices supporting AATIL infrastructure
  • Plan, design, implement, and sustain the AATIL infrastructure network
  • Monitor infrastructure equipment and event logs; conduct network audits to ensure operational readiness
  • Apply software builds, OS updates, firmware updates, and security patches; conduct regression testing to validate system performance
  • Utilize packet analyzers and DoD-approved tools to diagnose hardware, software, and network issues

Cybersecurity & Compliance
  • Perform DISA ACAS vulnerability scans and analyze results
  • Conduct DISA STIG compliance validation and security remediation
  • Maintain compliance documentation supporting cybersecurity assessments and reporting requirements

Documentation & Reporting
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including network installation records, engineering artifacts, and network drawings
  • Produce engineering reports, test documentation, technical recommendations, and status updates supporting customer deliverables

Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma and a minimum of 3 years of experience in one or more of the following: Software Engineering, Combat Systems Engineering, Combat System Integration & Test, Software Support Activity (SSA), Cybersecurity Engineering, Network Engineering, or Mission Readiness Assessments
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Windows, Linux, VMware ESXi, and Cisco networking equipment
  • Experience with system integration, troubleshooting, and regression testing methodologies
  • Experience performing DISA ACAS vulnerability scanning and STIG compliance
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Ability to support full-time on-site tasking at Dam Neck Annex

Desired Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or related STEM discipline from an accredited institution (7 years of relevant experience may substitute)
  • 3+ years supporting Navy Combat Systems, shipboard systems, or DoD software integration efforts
  • Experience with Combat Management Systems (CMS) or the Atalanta Weapon System (AtWS)
  • Experience with FF(X) or other surface combatant programs
  • Experience with AutoCAD and/or Inventor
  • Familiarity with the Navy Data Environment (NDE)
