Title:
TVAC Subject Matter Expert Engineer

KBR is seeking qualified expert in TVAC Engineering to join our OMES III contract supporting environmental testing operations at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center's Integration & Test (I&T) complex in Greenbelt, MD. These employees will play a key role in performing complex operations related to space simulation testing for both flight and ground support hardware.
Summary of Work
Serve as a Technical Advisor with expertise in space simulation testing, providing technical leadership and guidance for testing of spaceflight hardware and ground support equipment. Lead the planning, execution, and oversight of thermal vacuum and environmental testing activities, leveraging facilities including 10 thermal vacuum chambers, 2 temperature/humidity chambers, and associated support systems.
Ensure test readiness, integrity, and compliance by directing and/or performing complex space simulation testing in alignment with mission and program requirements.
Required Skills / Knowledge
  • Deep technical expertise in space simulation testing, including demonstrated experience leading or advising on test campaigns for spaceflight hardware.
  • Advanced knowledge of thermal vacuum chamber operations, facility systems, and associated test equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
  • Proven ability to develop, review, and approve detailed operating procedures, test plans, and equipment manuals.
  • Strong understanding of vacuum-compatible materials, contamination control, and fabrication processes for ground support equipment used in space environments.

Basic Compensation:
  • Jobs on this contract range from $163,800- $245,700. Pay range is specific to the Greenbelt, MD area.
  • The offered rate will be based on the position, contract affordability, the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation:
  • KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short-term incentives, long-term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
