Job description

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
Role and Position Objectives
As the Enterprise Services Team Product Owner for the SDA GMI program, you will be responsible for managing the one of the Enterprise Servies teams that is responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground satellite operational systems.
Multiple Enterprise Services teams are collectively responsible for developing a Platform as a Service (PaaS) solution, integrating Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) components, developing common mission services and applications, supporting application development teams to onboard mission capabilities, and managing multiple deployments to support development, integration and testing, and operations environments. Your role is to work within the overall Enterprise Services organization, manage the team and coordinate and collaborate with the others and multiple stakeholders. COTS and FOSS components to integrate include a variety of AWS services as well as Kubernetes, Confluent Platform (Kafka), Redis, Redhat IPA, Windows AD, Keycloak, cybersecurity tools (e.g., ACAS/Nessus, Anchore, Splunk), and developer support tools (e.g., GitLab, Atlassian suite, and Nexus artifact repository). The team is actively enhancing the architecture to fully support cloud native AWS services.
Your key responsibilities include:
Vision & Strategy
  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap to SDA and internal team stakeholders
  • Align product goals with business objectives and SDA customer needs
  • Prioritize features and capabilities based on business value and satellite operations needs

Backlog Management
  • Create, maintain, and prioritize the product backlog, coordinating with the scrum master, Enterprise Services Development Lead, and other stakeholders
  • Write clear and concise user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Ensure the backlog is visible, transparent, and understood by all team members
  • Refine backlog items regularly (grooming sessions)

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Act as the primary liaison between SDA and internal team stakeholders and the development team
  • Gather and analyze stakeholder feedback and requirements
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and communications

Acceptance & Delivery
  • Review and accept completed work from the development team
  • Ensure delivered features meet definition of done and acceptance criteria
  • Validate that solutions meet customer and business needs

Decision Making
  • Make timely decisions on scope, priorities, and trade-offs
  • Balance technical constraints with business needs
  • Define release criteria and manage release planning

Agile Ceremonies
  • Actively participate in Sprint Planning, Reviews, and Retrospectives
  • Collaborate closely with the Scrum Master and development team
  • Provide continuous feedback and clarification throughout sprints

Combined Salary Range
USD $112,924.00 - USD $125,275.00 /Yr.
