POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Spa Attendant oversees the cleanliness of the spa ensuring that the reception, waiting areas, linen storage, locker rooms, and all pools are always clean and well-stocked. The Spa Attendant preps, maintains and services the private and communal pool areas. Spa Attendants are responsible for restocking all lockers with the appropriate items and keeping the locker rooms clean and organized. Must maintain routine trash pickup throughout the spa, used linen pick up, and must assure that linen is picked up by the laundry team throughout the day to keep clean linen supplied back to the spa. As part of the Spa team, provides outstanding guest experiences.
Responsibilities
  1. Stocks treatment rooms, LMT workspaces, and linen storage area with necessary linens, towels, paper goods, supplies, etc. according to established stock levels and checklists throughout the day.
  2. Opens Spa work areas upon arrival including turning on hydrocollators, crockpots, and mini-splits.
  3. Prepares spa water and replenishes throughout the day.
  4. Clean, set-up, stock, and prepare yurts for daily classes, workshops, and private retreats and events.
  5. Studies and understands the spa menu to clearly communicate offerings to guests.
  6. Can clearly communicate all offerings including yoga classes, workshops, private pools, and other resort activities.
  7. Ensures Spa Reception, lounges, locker rooms, and public areas are kept clean, trash is picked up, dirty towels are disposed of according to SOP guidelines, and overall appearance of the spa is organized and eye pleasing to guests.
  8. Deep cleans all spa workspaces and public areas by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and sanitizing. All areas should be impeccable.
  9. Checks with manager(s) to determine any outstanding issues or guest needs for the day
  10. Flips lockers on a consistent basis, ensuring revenue is not lost due to lack of locker inventory
  11. Ensures towel inventory is acceptable and in good condition for all treatments.
  12. Realigns lounge chairs to maintain orderly and acceptable staging for guests in the spa waiting areas.
  13. Escorts guests to steam, pools and tubs in a friendly, engaging manner; have a thorough working knowledge of spaces.
  14. Actively engages with guests in the pool areas and offers upsell possibilities such as spa treatments and restaurant services
  15. Understands spa and springs rules and enforces them by communicating the rules to guests in a respectful and gracious manner.
  16. Receives, counts, and stores all incoming orders of supplies and linens.
  17. Utilizes downtime effectively by reviewing and following checklists, following verbal instructions and/or seeking guidance from a Spa team member.
  18. Assists with weekly, monthly, and quarterly inventories.
  19. Reports any damaged equipment, furniture, fixtures immediately.
  20. Cross-trains as backup in other areas of Spa and Springs as needed.
  21. Incorporates the resort's culture of service excellence, mission and core values into all aspects of job performance.
  22. Report for work in the department's issued uniform. Wear your name tag.

Qualifications
1. High school diploma (or equivalent); Associate's degree a plus.
2. First Aid/AED/CPR certification preferred, or willingness to become certified.
3. Minimum of one year of spa experience preferred.
4. Reliability and punctuality are critical.
5. Desire to ensure the best possible guest experience.
6. Ability to engage guests in a friendly manner.
7. Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and calm demeanor.
8. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather including heat, cold, rain, snow, and wind.
9. Ability to work in a quiet environment where the employee may be exposed to heat and steam.
10. Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
11. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit, stand (for eight hours or more a day), reach, lift, bend, kneel, stoop, climb, push, walk, and pull items weighing up to 60 pounds.
12. Ability to perform duties that may require standing for extended periods.
13. The position requires manual dexterity; auditory and visual skills; the ability to create written and oral instructions and procedures; and the ability to speak and communicate quietly yet clearly.
Due to the natural environment at Ojo Spa Resorts, all staff must be comfortable outdoors performing physical activities, and be able to navigate uneven ground, diverse terrain, multiple stairs, and be prepared to work in unpredictable weather conditions.
