Job Summary:

The Software Engineer II (Frontend) role involves designing and developing solutions for PlayStation features across multiple platforms, focusing on creating high-quality front-end applications and collaborating with international teams.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Build and develop complex projects across mobile, console, and supported platforms, enhancing efficiency and collaboration.
โ€ข Develop and maintain high-quality front-end applications using React Native, ensuring they are production-ready and meet performance standards.
โ€ข Create and deploy adaptable UI elements for multiple platforms, emphasizing scalability and ease of maintenance, while incorporating architectural frameworks such as MVC, MVVM, and MVP.
โ€ข Develop unit and integration tests and conduct code reviews to ensure high-quality code and seamless functionality.
โ€ข Maintain clear, concise documentation of system architecture, codebase, and development processes.
โ€ข Develop using Agile methodologies such as Scrum to deliver iterative improvements and achieve breakthroughs.
โ€ข Collaborate closely with international teams of UI designers and product managers (USA, Japan, UK) to translate requirements into actionable work packages, creating engaging mobile user experiences.
โ€ข Represent the team in technical forums by presenting designs, sharing knowledge, and contributing insights to other Sony software development groups.
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Bachelorโ€™s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
โ€ข Genuine passion for crafting seamless, intuitive user experiences that prioritize usability and performance.
โ€ข 2+ years of experience crafting single-page web applications or mobile applications.
โ€ข Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React/React Native, Angular, or similar technologies to build flexible interfaces and engaging applications.
โ€ข Proficient knowledge of mobile environments, structures, and advancements in iOS and Android programming, including emerging innovations.
โ€ข Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, emphasizing effective and scalable solutions.
โ€ข Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
โ€ข Experience collaborating on cloud-deployed services that host APIs and backend processes interacting with data storage and caching layers, event buses, and other services.
Preferred:
โ€ข Proven experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum.
โ€ข Proven skill in evaluating and improving UI and application performance, with a focus on UI response time and network optimization.
โ€ข Skilled in developing multi-threaded applications with a deep understanding of concurrency and synchronization.
โ€ข Experience in working with C++ and C# on multi-threaded applications.
โ€ข Proficiency in designing and implementing GraphQL APIs.
โ€ข Experience with cloud services and serverless architectures.
โ€ข Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
โ€ข Prior experience with system monitoring, performance tuning, and debugging in production environments.
