Senior Receptionist

Sompo has a unique opportunity for a Senior Receptionist to join our Facilities & Real Estate team. This role will assist with the daily operations of the Sompo office and will work with the NY office facilities staff to promote a safe, secure and suitable working environment by assisting with office services and facilities management responsibilities.

What you'll be doing:

  • Main POC for the NYC office location manning the main entrance to the office, directing phone calls and visitors, handling deliveries and mail and directing staff as needed
  • Works closely with the AVP and the Facilities Coordinators to oversee the day-to-day functions of the office and maintain a clean and professional office environment
  • Assist with the coordination of office supply ordering (which will also include coffee and snack orders for the breakroom) to manage current supply and anticipate future needs
  • Assists with the oversight of breakroom supplies and coffee machines
  • Assists with the oversight of the cleanliness, organization and upkeep of kitchen areas, office supply/printer areas and all common areas of the office
  • Works closely with building and internal security to arrange access for employees and visitors
  • Works closely with Facilities Coordinators to coordinate with building management and outside vendors as needed to ensure maintenance and repairs are reported and resolved, vendors are managed, and service is consistent
  • Inspects main reception and front desk areas at the end of each day to ensure they are organized, neat and clean
  • Assists with the emergency evacuation efforts
  • Works closely with the AVP of Facilities to manage space and both new hire and visitor seating

What you'll bring:

  • (3 to 7) years' experience in office administration/corporate setting preferred
  • Polite and professional demeanor
  • Experience in vendor relationship preferred
  • Demonstrates analytical ability and good business judgement
  • Incumbent must be able to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrates ability to achieve goals through teamwork and collaboration
  • Experience using Windows and Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and other business colleagues

Salary Range: $70,000 – $90,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
