Overview
ABOUT US:
Founded in 1993, Bayview Asset Management is an investment management firm focused on investments in mortgage and consumer credit, including whole loans, asset-backed securities, mortgage servicing rights, and other credit-related assets.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Analyst is responsible for the extraction of data, analysis of portfolio segments and synthesis of information necessary for the management of the Consumer & Small Business Lending Portfolio Management positions.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Analyze results and make recommendations for improvement based on results
  • Conduct regular surveillance of portfolio performance
  • Research industry trends to gain business intelligence in matters such as interest rates, regulatory changes,
  • Utilize tools to extract data necessary to conduct portfolio analysis; tools used include Excel, Python, SQL Server Management Studio, Intex, and CAS
  • Conduct oversight of the data provided by our trade partners and make sure the correct and up to date information is loaded in our databases
  • Prepare and maintain monthly portfolio and performance reports (e.g., positions, P&L projections) for internal stakeholders by prescribed deadlines
  • Prioritize and manage multiple assignments to deliver accurate, high-quality work on time
  • Capable of working effectively, independently, and seamlessly across both technical and business sectors
  • Exhibit organization, efficiency, accuracy, and creativity in all work-related tasks
  • Quickly detect, monitor, document, and resolve challenges
  • Effectively convey information to audiences, regardless of their technical expertise
  • Collaborate effectively and professionally with technical and business teams across departments (IT, Accounting, Finance, Capital Markets, Deal Operations, etc.) to resolve portfolio management issues
  • Exercise exemplary corporate citizenship including strict adherence to compliance requirements and Bayview's tenets
  • Other duties as needed or required

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/ABILITIES:
  • Ability to work in a highly paced and dynamic environment preferred
  • Knowledge of database principles and data extraction
  • Working SQL experience or prior experience with similar data processing languages is preferred
  • Hands-on programming experience in scripting (e.g. Python)
  • Expert use of Excel
  • Excellent use of Word and PowerPoint
  • Excellent spelling and grammar
  • Ability to work in a highly paced and dynamic environment preferred
  • Demonstrated success in collaborating with multiple teams.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, technology, engineering or math field is required
  • Finance, business, or data management experience is required
  • Open to recent graduates or individuals with relevant internship experience
