We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Customized Solutions Project Specialist to join our team at our office-based in Houston, TX.
As a Project Specialist, you will support engineering and project teams by producing high-quality concepts, designs, drawings, schematics, documentation, and procedures in accordance with Subsea7 standards, procedures, and industry best practices. You will have the opportunity to develop your technical and professional expertise while working alongside experienced teams on a variety of offshore energy projects. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating within multidisciplinary teams and is committed to delivering accurate and innovative design solutions.
The role is accountable for contributing to the development of all Subsea 7's policies and procedures. All personnel are expected to contribute to creating a positive HSEQ culture within Subsea 7 and ensure familiarity with and adherence to local HSEQ codes and practices.
What will you be doing?

  • Produce sketches, drawings, documents, and procedures consistent with good engineering practices and company drafting procedures.
  • Provide high-quality and efficient documentation, drafting, and design support for project deliverables under supervision.
  • Utilize 2D CAD tools and support 3D design activities where appropriate.
  • Interface with Project Teams to ensure project schedules and deliverables are achieved.
  • Interface with Project Teams to support the professional and timely delivery of CAD concepts, designs, drawings, documents, and procedures in accordance with S7 practices.
  • Interface with Project Team to support the procurement, assembly, testing, movement, and timely delivery of project deliverables.
  • Ensure compliance with the Business Management System (BMS), quality requirements, and HSE procedures.
  • Comply with company standards, engineering processes, and applicable industry regulations and legislation.
  • Maintain drawing control activities, including production, revision management, registration, and filing of drawings.
  • Liaise with Project Teams and stakeholders regarding project, equipment, design, and documentation requirements as directed.
  • Collaborate with other designers to promote knowledge sharing, consistency, and best practices across projects.
  • Support engineering compliance initiatives to help deliver safe, reliable, and high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Capture lessons learned and opportunities for improvement (OFIs) to enhance company systems, processes, and services.
  • Participate in training and development activities to support ongoing professional growth and technical competency.
  • Promote and contribute to a positive HSEQ culture throughout all work activities.
What experience would we like you to have?

Qualifications & Skills

  • Professional qualifications - Associate Degree in Drafting & Design, preferably Mechanical or Structural, or equivalent relevant industry experience. 
  • Relevant design and drafting experience (2-3 years preferred) within the Marine, Offshore Energy, Oil & Gas, or related industries.
  • Experience producing layouts, installation drawings, transportation drawings, and fabrication drawings.
  • Working knowledge of drafting industry codes, standards, and design guidelines.
  • Proficiency in 2D CAD software and exposure to 3D modeling applications.
  • Ability to produce accurate technical drawings and sketches in accordance with engineering and company standards.
  • Understanding of drawing control processes, revision management, and document management systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and personal organization.
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams and across multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and deliver work within schedule and budget constraints.
  • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and professional development.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Autodesk Inventor experience.
  • Experience with Autodesk Vault or similar Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Experience supporting offshore, subsea, marine, or fabrication projects.
  • Exposure to 3D modeling and design coordination activities.
  • Knowledge of Subsea7 drafting standards, engineering processes, or project delivery methodology.
