With a global network of manufacturing and distribution facilities, Atkore is a leading provider of electrical, safety, and infrastructure solutions.

Who we are looking for:

We are looking for an AI Solutions Engineer to support Atkore’s newly established AI team. The AI Solutions Engineer will be a member of the Enterprise Architecture, Data Services and Automation (RPA/AI) team. The AI Solutions Engineer will work closely with AI Infrastructure, Enterprise Architecture, Data Services, and business partners to translate AI use cases into scalable, reliable, and observable technical solutions. This role plays a critical part in operationalizing AI by connecting models and agents to real-world enterprise systems.

  • Develop and manage connectors and integrations with enterprise platforms such as ERP, MES, CRM, databases, and file systems
  • Standardize and expose data and process access through well-defined REST, GraphQL, or asynchronous APIs
  • Implement observability, logging, and error-handling frameworks to monitor AI agent behavior and performance
  • Partner closely with business analysts, product owners, and application teams to translate AI use cases into production-ready integrations
  • Contribute to shared metadata standards, interface contracts, and integration patterns to enable safe and reusable AI capabilities
  • Support secure and scalable AI adoption by aligning with cyber security, data governance, and infrastructure standards
  • Stay current on emerging AI agent architectures, integration frameworks, and enterprise AI best practices
  • Work closely with Data Engineering, Application Integration, and other IT teams to enable AI use cases across Atkore operations

What you bring:

  • BS / BA in Computer Science, Business or related field of study
  • At least 5 years of experience in backend software development or enterprise systems integration
  • Proficiency in Python, RESTful API design, and data serialization formats such as JSON and YAML
  • Experience working with enterprise data platforms, message queues, or service buses
  • Working knowledge of AI and agent-based architectures, including LLM APIs (e.g. MCP, A2A, etc.), embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts
  • Handson experience with public cloud platforms (Azure preferred)
  • Familiarity with data platforms and analytics ecosystems supporting structured and unstructured enterprise data
  • Familiarity with Software Development Life Cycle and Agile delivery processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience integrating with legacy systems, manufacturing, or operational technology (OT) environments preferred
  • Must embrace and foster an environment that supports our core values of Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, Excellence

          Within 3 months, you’ll:

          • Have successfully completed your onboarding and immersion program, with a full understanding of what’s expected of you as well as who the stakeholders are that you’ll work closely with

          • Have gained an understanding of Atkore’s enterprise system landscape and priority AI use cases
          • Have contributed to initial integrations or AI solution pilots

           Within 6 months, you’ll:

          • Be delivering AI integrations and agent runtime components into production
          • Be working collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture to establish reusable integration patterns and interface standards for AI solutions
          • Be working to improve observability and operational stability of AI-enabled applications
          • Be working collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Data Services to deepen your understanding of Atkore’s data, process, and security requirements
          • Be working closely with peers on the IT team on achieving KPI’s, contributing ideas in the name of continuous improvement, regularly reviewing progress, establishing countermeasures where needed, and working collaboratively to achieve group objectives

          Within 12 months, you’ll:

          • Be recognized as a key technical contributor to Atkore’s enterprise AI capabilities and serving as a trusted partner to business and IT leaders enabling scalable AI adoption
          • Be building and supporting multiple AI solutions connected to core business systems
          • Be working collaboratively with Enterprise Architecture and Cybersecurity to evolve standards and best practices for enterprise AI integrations and tooling
