Data Center Solutions Account Manager

The Sales Account Manager is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and managing client relationships within the data center market. This role focuses on selling Compu Dynamics' data center infrastructure solutions and services, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and mission-critical systems. The ideal candidate brings a strong sales background, a consultative approach, and a working understanding of data center technologies and customer requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve revenue and growth targets within the data center market.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new leads and business opportunities through research, networking, and relationship building.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from initial contact through contract execution.
  • Maintain an active pipeline of opportunities aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Drive repeat business through proactive account management and customer engagement.
Client Relationship Management
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders, including C-level executives, IT leaders, facilities managers, and procurement teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs, challenges, and long-term objectives.
  • Maintain consistent communication to ensure client satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
  • Support account growth by identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
Solutions Development & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with internal technical, engineering, and operations teams to develop tailored data center solutions.
  • Translate customer requirements into clear scopes and solution strategies.
  • Participate in internal reviews to align proposed solutions with operational capabilities.
  • Support the development of accurate proposals, pricing, and solution presentations.
Presentations, Proposals & Negotiation
  • Conduct client presentations, product demonstrations, and solution walkthroughs.
  • Prepare and deliver proposals that clearly articulate Compu Dynamics' value proposition.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Support contract execution and transition to project delivery teams.
Market Awareness & Performance Tracking
  • Track and report on sales activity, pipeline health, forecasts, and performance metrics.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive offerings, and emerging data center technologies.
  • Represent Compu Dynamics at industry events, conferences, and trade shows.
  • Provide market feedback to leadership to support strategic planning and service development.

Supervisory Responsibility: There are no supervisory responsibilities with this role.

Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment with frequent travel to customer sites, meetings, and industry events. Occasional travel and extended hours may be required to support client needs.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit, including as a driver or passenger of an automobile; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs/ladders; talk or hear; move around at construction and other work sites; maneuver in small or tight places. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Position Type: This is a full-time position.

Required Education and Experience:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  2. 3–5 years of outside sales experience within one or more of the following industries:
  • Mechanical
  • Electrical
  • HVAC
  • Data Centers

Preferred Education and Experience:

  1. Working knowledge of data center critical power and cooling systems
  2. 3–5 years of experience supporting IT companies, colocation providers, or end users managing data center infrastructure

  • Birthday Time Off – 8 hours of paid time off during your birthday month.
  • Paid Parental Leave – 8 weeks maternity leave and 2 weeks paternity leave, concurrent with FMLA.
  • Volunteer Time Off (VTO) – 40 hours annually for community service.
  • Boot Reimbursement – up to $150 annually, available from your first day.
  • Tool Reimbursement – $250 annually, available after 60 days.
  • Tuition Reimbursement – up to $5,000 annually for approved educational programs.
