Job description

Role: Senior SAP S/4HANA ABAP Lead (Landscape/Transport Management) 

Location: ~Dallas,TX~

Duration: 6 months

Senior SAP S/4HANA ABAP Lead (Landscape/Transport Management)  Key Responsibilities:

•       Landscape Management: Act as the primary technical contact for N (ECC) and N+1 (S4) landscape strategy, ensuring smooth, automated transport movement.

•       Code Synchronization: Perform retrospectives on code changes, identifying conflicts and retrofitting enhancements from the N track into the N+1 track using SAP solution manager tools like Revtrac.

•       S/4HANA Development: Design and develop custom solutions using CDS Views, AMDP, OData services, and Fiori, ensuring compliance with S/4HANA standards.

•       Release Governance: Manage complex transport dependencies (retrofitting) to ensure that code deployed in the production environment is retrofitted into S4 environment timely and accurately

•       Issue Resolution: Analyze, document, and resolve technical issues arising from differences between the two environments, ensuring high-quality, stable code.

•       Collaboration & Documentation: Working with functional resources across various SAP modules to resolve object conflicts and document the details for audit and historical references

Required Technical Skills:

•       Expertise in ABAP on HANA, including CDS views and AMDP , S/4HANA Fiori, OData, and Embedded Analytics.

•       Extensive experience with Transport Organizer and Retrofit processes in Solution Manager.

•       Execute and support system upgrade activities, including pre checks, SUM execution, and post upgrade validation. Handle SPAU and SPDD adjustments during S/4HANA upgrades. Ensure consistency of custom objects and enhancements post-upgrade.

SAP Fiori & OData Services

•       Configure and deploy OData services for Fiori applications

•       Activate and manage services via /IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE

•       Design and develop Fiori applications and UI5 components

•       Understand integration between Gateway, Backend system, and Launchpad

SICF & Service Activation

•       Configure and activate SICF services required for OData and Fiori apps

•       Ensure correct ICF node activation and service paths for seamless connectivity

•       Troubleshoot service connectivity and authorization issues

Web Services & Integration

•       Register and configure SOAP/Web services in SAP

•       Work on service consumption and provider configurations

•       Support integrations involving IDoc, CPI, SLT, and external systems

Rev-Trac / Transport Management

•       Handle Rev-Trac PODS check errors during transport lifecycle

•       Ensure compliance with release management and transport controls

•       Perform root cause analysis for failed transports and remediation

Vertex / Tax Integration

•       Understand integration concepts of Vertex tax engine

•       Familiarity with SIC (Single Instance Configuration / System Integration Component) in Vertex context

•       Support tax-related enhancements and troubleshooting

Experience Requirements:

•       Minimum 12-14 years of experience in SAP ABAP, with at least 5-6 years focusing on S/4HANA implementations.

•       Experience in managing N & N+1 development landscapes in large-scale, multi-track projects.

•       Excellent communication Skills to coordinate with multiple teams.
