Seasonal CDL Driver - Solid Waste

Prudhoe Bay, Alaska

Seasonal Full Time Rotational Schedule

Keep Alaska's North Slope Moving

Colville, Inc. is seeking experienced CDL Drivers to join our Solid Waste operations in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. This position plays an important role in safely collecting, transporting, and handling solid waste while supporting the day to day needs of our North Slope operations.

Employees work a rotational schedule and stay at Brooks Camp while on shift. We are looking for dependable, safety focused drivers who take pride in their work, provide excellent service, and are prepared to operate in the challenging conditions of Alaska's North Slope.

What You Will Do
  • Safely operate commercial vehicles used for solid waste collection and transportation
  • Collect, transport, and deliver solid waste and materials to designated locations
  • Operate tractor trailer combinations and other assigned commercial vehicles
  • Safely maneuver vehicles in yards, customer locations, narrow areas, and active work sites
  • Conduct thorough pre trip and post trip inspections of assigned vehicles and equipment
  • Identify and report maintenance, mechanical, or safety concerns promptly
  • Secure loads, containers, and equipment in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
  • Operate front end loaders, skid steers, and other equipment as assigned
  • Maintain vehicles, equipment, and work areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Complete required driver logs, inspection reports, and other documentation accurately and on time
  • Communicate professionally with customers, supervisors, dispatch, and other team members
  • Follow company safety policies and all applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations
  • Work safely in extreme cold, snow, wind, reduced visibility, and changing road and site conditions
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support Colville operations
What We Are Looking For
  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum of 2 years of commercial Class A driving experience preferred
  • Experience operating tractor trailers and other commercial vehicles
  • Solid waste, heavy equipment, or North Slope driving experience preferred
  • Current Medical Examiner's Certificate
  • Must meet applicable FMCSA driver qualification requirements
  • Strong understanding of commercial vehicle safety and inspection requirements
  • Ability to safely operate in congested yards, customer locations, and changing road conditions
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable and able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Ability to perform the physical duties associated with the position
  • Ability to work extended shifts in a rotational environment
  • Ability to safely work in extreme Arctic weather and changing conditions
Employment Requirements

Successful candidates must be able to meet all applicable pre employment and regulatory requirements, including:

  • DOT pre employment drug screening
  • Criminal background check
  • Motor vehicle record review
  • Fit for duty or medical evaluation as required
  • FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements
  • Authorization to work in the United States
