We are a growing multi-disciplined firm of professional engineers, architects, environmental scientists, geologists, planners and landscape architects headquartered in Syracuse, NY, with branch offices throughout Maryland, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and Maine. B&L specializes in solid waste management, environmental services, water supply, wastewater management, transportation engineering, facilities engineering, land planning and site design, land surveying and asset management. B&L is proud to have a family-oriented culture, focused on supporting innovation and staff growth to provide inspired solutions to meet our client's needs.
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Managing or Senior Managing Engineer for a full-time position in our Solid Waste Practice Area located in either of our Maryland offices (Annapolis or Reisterstown). Duties primarily include engineering related to general civil and environmental engineering, as well as solid waste management facilities and systems.
Technical duties include:
  • Comprehensive master planning, facility design and permitting, construction management and inspection, and operations support for solid waste management.
  • Preparation of project manuals and technical specifications, design reports, design drawing guidance and oversight reviews and development of opinions of probable construction costs.
  • Preparation of engineering feasibility studies, condition assessments, environmental studies and solid waste management plans, and associated reports.
  • Evaluate and develop project plans for site layout and grading, on-site roadways, erosion and sediment control (ESC), environmental site design (ESD), and stormwater management systems.
  • Ability to develop, coordinate, interpret and/or prepare environmental sampling, monitoring, laboratory analyses, and reports for groundwater, surface water, stormwater, and soils.
  • Construction management and inspection with observation and daily field reports.
  • Preparation of proposals including detailed scopes of work, cost estimates, and presentations.
  • Business development and marketing with existing and new clientele.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of experience in the consulting industry a plus, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in MD or the ability to obtain reciprocity is desired.
  • Experience with the design and layout of site plans, grading plans, pipelines, stormwater management systems and other related civil/site work is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel locally to field sites work for construction management/inspection.
  • Program management, facility operations, contract administration, and technical business writing experience is a plus.

Estimated Pay Range: $120,000 - $140,000/year.
Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
