"Site Surveyor" Role Overview:
The Site Surveyor in Massachusetts is responsible for performing site audits and collecting technical data for solar system design. Requires travel, roof work experience, and strong communication skills. Join Our World Energy and help power Illinois future with renewable energy!
Job Responsibilities:
  • As a Site Surveyor, you will be our primary point of contact on the ground and integrally involved with the entire process of helping customers go solar
  • Effectively manage your schedule to complete several time sensitive tasks daily
  • Create detailed rooftop map layout for solar arrays including roof layout dimensions and all roof penetrations (pipes, vents etc.)
  • Performs site survey appointments as scheduled, collecting site information and preparing deliverable packages for downstream teams
  • Collect detailed shading data using designated software and applications
  • Conduct a physical site audit using auditing tools including a tablet PC, measuring devices, CRM application/equipment, a digital camera, and other related equipment
  • Prepare site audit documents as needed to coordinate with design/engineering department to produce permit-ready documents
  • Clearly understand simple geometry as it relates to calculating area and material panel layouts on projects
  • Surveyors must be responsible and able to manage their own schedule to ensure that all necessary tasks are followed through on, with minimal outside management
  • Adhere to all safety requirements and regulations

Required Qualifications:
Education Requirements:
    • At least 18 years old of age
    • High school diploma or equivalent

Required Skills:
    • At least 1 year of roof work or general construction experience is required
    • Ability to understand, read, and comprehend contract documents and plans
    • Written and verbal communication skills required in order to prepare site audit documents and conduct site audit meetings with customers
    • The ideal candidate will be skilled, motivated, willing to learn, and reliable
    • Ability to safely handle power tools and hand tools as well as materials such as ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
    • Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment
    • Daily Travel to work site required
    • Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment screening requirements and have valid driver's license while maintaining a clean driving record
