Job description

SolSource is a residential solar fintech startup delivering a first-of-its-kind third-party ownership (TPO) product that is scaling fast. We provide Energy Service Agreements and leases originated through a dedicated installer network and financed through warehouse facilities, tax credit transactions, and equity capital.

We're looking for an operator who has lived inside the residential solar fintech stack; someone who understands not just how solar gets installed, but how it gets packaged, financed, serviced, and reported on to capital partners.

This is a foundational leadership role reporting directly to the COO. You will own the operational infrastructure that sits between project origination and investor reporting and help us in building the systems, policies, and controls that make SolSource's assets bankable, compliant, and scalable.

What You'll Own

  • Design and manage the end-to-end process for assembling projects into tranches for warehouse draws, tax credit transfers, and equity closes.
  • Build eligibility screening logic and package-level QA controls to ensure every project in a tranche meets investor, IRS, and programmatic requirements before submission.
  • Maintain tranche trackers, funding schedules, and documentation checklists in coordination with legal and finance.
  • Build SolSource's operational policy library from the ground up: SOPs, escalation protocols, exception handling, and audit controls across the full project lifecycle.
  • Implement internal controls that support ITC defensibility, domestic content traceability, energy community eligibility, and FEOC compliance at the asset level.
  • Partner with legal and finance to ensure policies stay current with IRA guidance, utility rules, and state TPO regulations.

3. ESA & Lease Servicing Operations

  • Build and manage the third-party servicing and operations and maintenance (O&M) framework for SolSource's growing portfolio of assets.
  • Production monitoring and performance guarantee compliance
  • Service ticketing, warranty escalation, and O&M coordination
  • Contract transfers, assignments, assumptions, and renewals
  • Ensure servicing activities comply with state-level TPO consumer protection requirements and with investment partner compliance requirements.
  • Develop reporting packages and maintain data integrity for investor servicer reports.

4. Compliance & ITC Defensibility

  • Own audit-ready compliance documentation for all ITC adder categories: Domestic Content, Energy Community, and Low-Income designations.
  • Build FEOC-compliant equipment procurement tracking and bill-of-materials documentation.
  • Manage ongoing compliance monitoring for installer behavior, equipment certifications, and contract completeness.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on IRA compliance standards and interface directly with tax counsel and ITC buyers during diligence.

5. Investor Reporting & Capital Markets Operations

  • Design and produce recurring reporting packages for warehouse lenders, ITC buyers, and equity partners including portfolio performance, draw requests, concentration limits, and covenant compliance.
  • Build the data infrastructure (in coordination with tech/ops) to support automated and auditable investor reporting.
  • Own the operational deliverables required at each capital event: initial closes, subsequent draws, annual servicer certifications, and portfolio reviews.
  • Maintain data room hygiene and document delivery standards across all active investor relationships.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • 8โ€“12+ years in residential solar operations, with direct experience in at least two of the following: TPO asset management or servicing, tax equity or ITC transaction operations, warehouse lending compliance, or Fintech compliance.
  • Hands-on knowledge of IRA Domestic Content rules, FEOC compliance, and ITC defensibility requirements; not just familiarity, but operational execution experience.
  • Demonstrated experience building project packages or tranches for capital transactions (warehouse draws, tax credit transfers, or equity closes).
  • Strong SOPs and controls instinct: you've built operational policy frameworks that held up to investor and legal diligence.
  • Experience managing third-party servicers.
  • Comfort operating in a startup environment: building without precedent, owning outcomes, and moving fast with limited resources.

Strongly Preferred

  • Experience at or alongside a residential solar TPO platform (e.g., Sunrun, Sunnova, Mosaic, Spruce, Loanpal/GoodLeap, or similar).
  • Familiarity with warehouse facility mechanics and borrowing base eligibility requirements.
  • Working knowledge of ITC transfer and tax equity deal structures under the IRA.
  • Exposure to utility interconnection processes and state-level TPO regulatory requirements.

Why SolSource

We're not building incremental improvements; we're building a new kind of residential solar fintech from the ground up. This role sits at the center of everything: product delivery, capital markets, compliance, and customer outcomes. You'll have direct access to the COO, real ownership over your domain, and the opportunity to shape how a fast-scaling TPO platform operates at institutional quality.

If you want to build the operational backbone of the next generation of residential solar finance then this is the role.
