Job Summary
The Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manager is responsible for overseeing the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of TerraForm Power's utility-scale solar generation assets across the United States.
Reporting to the Regional Manager, this role provides leadership across multiple solar sites, ensuring strong asset performance, regulatory compliance, cost-effective maintenance practices, and consistent execution of company operating standards. The O&M Manager partners closely with Asset Management, Performance Engineering, HSSE, Supply Chain, and external service providers to maximize production, reliability, and long-term asset value.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership
    • Lead operations and maintenance activities across utility-scale solar generation assets.
    • Ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of assigned facilities.
    • Monitor asset performance against production, availability, and reliability targets.
    • Identify underperformance and implement corrective actions.
    • Support outage planning, major maintenance, remediation, and repowering activities.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Champion TERP's HSSE culture and ensure compliance with company safety standards.
    • Ensure adherence to applicable federal, state, local, regulatory, interconnection, and company operating requirements.
    • Support incident investigations, corrective actions, and emergency response planning.
    • Promote safe work practices across employees, contractors, and vendors.
  • Maintenance & Reliability
    • Oversee preventive, corrective, and predictive maintenance programs.
    • Partner with Performance Engineering to analyze SCADA/DAS data and resolve system performance issues.
    • Ensure accurate maintenance documentation, reporting, work orders, and compliance records.
    • Support procurement, spare parts planning, inventory management, and site-level purchasing.
  • People Leadership
    • Lead, coach, and develop technicians, and field-based personnel.
    • Support scheduling, training, performance management, and workforce planning.
    • Promote accountability, collaboration, and consistent operating practices across sites.
  • Vendor & Contractor Management
    • Manage O&M contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and specialty service providers.
    • Oversee contractor safety, performance, scope execution, and contract compliance.
    • Coordinate internal and external resources for maintenance, troubleshooting, and site support.
  • Financial & Reporting Responsibilities
    • Support development and management of OpEx and CapEx budgets.
    • Track maintenance spending and identify cost-efficiency opportunities.
    • Prepare operational performance updates, reports, and recommendations for leadership.

Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in utility-scale solar operations and maintenance, including at least 3 years in a leadership role managing field operations or technical teams.
  • Strong knowledge of utility-scale solar PV systems, inverters, trackers, substations, SCADA/DAS platforms, and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience overseeing multiple sites, managing third-party contractors, and supporting preventive, corrective, and major maintenance activities.
  • Working knowledge of HSSE requirements, environmental regulations, interconnection standards, and applicable regulatory compliance.
  • Experience managing operating (OpEx) and capital (CapEx) budgets, maintenance planning, and performance reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive operational improvements across a geographically dispersed portfolio.
  • Proficiency with CMMS, Microsoft Office, and renewable energy performance monitoring systems.
  • OSHA 30, NABCEP, NFPA 70E, or other relevant industry certifications are a plus.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and willingness to travel daily to assigned sites.
