With a growing footprint across the Mid-Atlantic region, our client develops, constructs, owns, and operates utility-scale renewable energy projects.


We are hiring a Director of Procurement to lead procurement strategy and execution across a rapidly expanding utility-scale solar portfolio. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity responsible for sourcing strategy, supplier management, commercial negotiations, and supply chain optimization across major capital equipment and services.


The successful candidate will partner closely with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to support project delivery, cost optimization, and long-term business growth.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement strategy for utility-scale solar projects across development, construction, and operations phases
  • Oversee end-to-end sourcing activities, including RFPs and RFQs for major equipment and services
  • Lead commercial negotiations and execute supply agreements, master service agreements, and purchase orders
  • Partner with Development, EPC, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Operations teams to align procurement activities with business objectives
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers, manufacturers, and service providers
  • Develop category management strategies, supplier segmentation plans, and long-term sourcing roadmaps
  • Monitor market trends, equipment pricing, and supply chain dynamics to support procurement decisions
  • Support project financing activities and ensure procurement structures align with lender and investor requirements
  • Identify and mitigate procurement and supply chain risks, including pricing volatility, lead times, and market disruptions
  • Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement function capable of supporting continued organizational growth


Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline
  • MBA preferred
  • 10+ years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience
  • Significant experience supporting utility-scale renewable energy projects
  • Proven experience leading procurement strategy and managing procurement teams
  • Strong background in large-scale contract negotiations and capital equipment sourcing
  • Experience procuring major renewable energy equipment such as solar modules, inverters, trackers, transformers, BOS equipment, and related services
  • Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturers
  • Strong understanding of solar energy markets and supply chain dynamics
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement platforms (Oracle preferred)
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills
