Expected Length of Internship: 

  • Summer 2026 (June-August)

  • As an internship company, we allow flexibility to enroll in classes while working as an intern, as long as it doesn't interfere with the essential functions of the position.

Education/Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in business analytics, data analytics, information systems, engineering, computer science, or a related field.

  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, or automation tools such as Excel, Python, SQL, or similar.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau is preferred but not required.

  • First Solar encourages all interns to register their internship with their university.

Required Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to work across multiple datasets and systems.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Python, and/or SQL, and automation workflows preferred.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI.

  • Ability to clearly document processes, assumptions, analytical logic, and dashboard methodologies.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to collaborate across Business Development and cross-functional teams.

  • Strong critical thinking, organization, and execution skills.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

  • Ability to anticipate issues, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend solutions.

Basic Internship Scope (Project):

  • As a Business Development Data & Analytics Intern at First Solar, you will support data integration, reporting automation, and analytics initiatives within the Business Development organization. You will partner with sales, account management, operations, and planning teams to analyze historical sales and demand data, support demand forecasting and management reporting, and help translate data into actionable insights through scalable reports and Power BI dashboards. The role also includes documenting data processes and models, identifying opportunities for process improvement and automation, and supporting ad hoc analysis and special projects to enhance data-driven decision-making.

  • Primary Project: The intern will support the automation of processes that link CRM and contract data with external data sources to create a comprehensive market and business intelligence view. This project will enhance the broader team's customer and market knowledge base, improve data accessibility, and support more informed, data-driven decision-making across the Business Development organization.

  • Upon the completion of this internship, the intern is required to present their accomplishments and project summary to the leadership team.

Estimated Hourly Range:

  • $18.00 - $22.00 Estimated Hourly Rate
