Job description

General Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Plumbing Supervisor to oversee residential plumbing operations across multiple new construction job sites in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong background in residential plumbing and proven experience managing field crews. You'll ensure that all installations meet quality standards, safety requirements, and local code compliance-while keeping projects on schedule and within scope.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily plumbing operations at residential new construction sites.
  • Assign, schedule, and manage plumbing crews; monitor attendance, productivity, and workmanship quality.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, site plans, and job specifications to ensure proper layout and installation.
  • Ensure all plumbing systems meet Ohio state and local codes, job specifications, and safety standards.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, site superintendents, inspectors, and subcontractors.
  • Provide on-site technical guidance and troubleshooting support to field crews.
  • Manage material orders, deliveries, and inventory across multiple active job sites.
  • Conduct routine quality assurance inspections to verify compliance and performance.
  • Maintain a strong culture of safety, leading regular toolbox talks, safety audits, and adherence to OSHA and KEP standards.
  • Mentor and train apprentices and journeymen to help them progress toward licensing and skill development.
  • Maintain accurate records of work progress, incidents, materials, and labor using mobile and digital reporting tools.

Qualifications
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 4 years of residential plumbing experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
  • In-depth knowledge of rough-in, top-out, and finish plumbing for single-family or multi-family construction.
  • Familiarity with Indiana plumbing codes, inspection procedures, and permitting requirements.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Excellent leadership, organization, and communication skills; able to manage multiple crews and deadlines effectively.
  • Proficient with mobile apps, digital reporting tools, and scheduling platforms.

Preferred:
  • Valid Indianapolis, Indiana Plumbing License.
  • OSHA 10 or 30 Certification.
  • Experience managing multi-site residential projects or subdivisions.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to walk, stand, crouch, and lift up to 50 lbs across active construction environments.
  • Comfortable working outdoors year-round in Indiana weather conditions (heat, cold, humidity).
  • Ability to work in crawlspaces, attics, and elevated areas as required.
