Job description

Hypower is looking for a Junior Electrical Estimator to join our growing team! This is a great opportunity for individuals with 3-4 years of field experience in electrical construction who are eager to transition into estimating. We are seeking someone with a strong desire to learn, grow, and master software systems, with some prior estimating experience preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate to develop the skills necessary to thrive in this role. Pay rate will be from $28 to $36 per hour based on experience.
Position Summary:
The Junior Electrical Estimator works closely with the estimating team to prepare accurate electrical construction cost estimates. This role focuses on learning and applying estimating procedures, leveraging software tools, and supporting the team to ensure project proposals align with company and client expectations. Field experience and a willingness to develop technical estimating skills are essential to succeed in this position.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with performing takeoffs and preparing cost estimates for electrical construction projects.
  • Learn to interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents to determine the scope of work.
  • Input and maintain accurate data in the estimating software under the guidance of senior team members.

Training and Development:
  • Gain hands-on experience with industry-standard estimating tools and databases.
  • Participate in training sessions to understand company estimating standards and procedures.
  • Collaborate with senior estimators and project managers to develop a deeper understanding of estimating techniques.

Field Integration:
  • Leverage 3-4 years of field experience to identify practical and cost-effective installation methods during the estimating process.
  • Provide feedback to improve project planning and execution strategies.

Client and Team Coordination:
  • Support the estimating team in preparing scope/proposal letters for projects.
  • Work collaboratively with senior estimators and be willing to take direction and learn to process
  • Communicate effectively with internal teams and external clients to address project needs and clarify scope.

Data and Document Management:
  • Help track and update estimating information to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Help maintain documents and current revision, RFI and addendums

Qualifications:
  • 3-4 years of field experience in electrical construction (required).
  • Ability to learn and operate estimating software systems efficiently.
  • Basic understanding of electrical construction methods and materials.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Prior estimating experience is preferred but not required.
  • Can operate in the Microsoft 360 suite, excel, word, outlook
  • Ability to use AI tools
